Case
study initiative enhances Kellogg School’s academic
reputation

Kellogg faculty
have initiated, written and submitted more than a dozen new
case studies to the Kellogg School’s database since
the Office of the Dean began providing faculty funding in
November 2003, says Sheila Duran, director of the Kellogg
publication initiatives.
There currently
are about 70 cases available on the searchable online Kellogg
catalogue, which launched this spring, and approximately 45
additional case studies are scheduled to be posted in the
next several months, Duran says.
The online
case-study catalogue has been well-received by both the
Kellogg School community, and the general academic community,
Duran notes. The catalogue serves to promote knowledge at
Kellogg, further enhance the school’s reputation in
the academic and corporate communities, and emphasize “the
high quality of teaching at Kellogg and the lengths to which
our faculty go to have the best pedagogical materials,”
Duran says.
She reports that
her office has hired an experienced case writer to expedite
the process of completing the studies. The Office of the Dean
is exploring broader availability of Kellogg School cases
through domestic and international clearinghouses.
