Bookshelf: The Servant Leader
NU
Press offers new edition of Neuschel's The Servant Leader
Professor Robert Neuschel's leadership
course was popular with Kellogg School students, and for good
reason: The lessons drew from the professor's distinguished
career in business and academia.
Neuschel
collected many of these insights in his well-regarded 1998
text The Servant Leader: Unleashing the Power of Your People.
Until now, those seeking the out-of-print book extolling the
virtues of "unselfish leadership" that puts people first could
only obtain a pricey copy after diligent search. Thanks to
Northwestern University Press, however, The Servant Leader
is again available.
Neuschel,
who died in February 2004, taught corporate governance and
leadership at the Kellogg School for the last 25 years of
his life. His ideas regarding the power of servant leadership
have won the praise of numerous educators and corporate executives,
including Kellogg Dean Emeritus Donald
P. Jacobs, who called The Servant Leader a "must-read
for leaders and teachers of leadership worldwide."
