Student Opportunities for Summer Internships

Each year, the CRTI runs a unique fellowship program that seeks to advance Kellogg’s research and curriculum in the uses of technology as an enabler of economic development and social progress in developing countries. The CRTI Fellows are a selected group of Kellogg MBA students interested in gaining an academic understanding and real world experience of technology in development.

The fellowship includes an academic component consisting of seminars with development and technology sectors leaders. An experiential component includes voluntary placements at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and social enterprises that are currently using technology in innovative ways to improve governance, promote education, create livelihoods and improve health care. Fellows apply their academic learning and practical experience to address defined needs of the host organizations.

In summer 2011, CRTI placed six fellows with organizations in India for 10 weeks. The program was conducted in partnership with IMT Ghaziabad http://www.imt.edu/, one of India’s leading management institutions. The program matched MBA students selected through a competitive process at IMT with CRTI Fellows to create a peer-to-peer learning process.

At the conclusion of the program, the fellows completed a case study project and made presentations to a group of business, academic and development field experts. Read about their experience and check out each of their presentations at the links below.
