Roberto Jay Fonacier, MM-U opted to stay just one year at Kellogg to assume the presidency of Odyssey Tapes & Records while his Dad, Dakie, minds the BIR store. He has added ³XL² to the store¹s name, since he¹s a lot taller then Dad. In the process, he garnered the DTI¹s Retailer of the Year award. The last meeting was a joint Kellogg-Darden cocktail held at the Piano Bar of the Manila Peninsula Hotel on Aug. 31. For only P200/person, all canapés and beer were included, according to Beans Gonzalez who made the arrangements. Present at the party were Sec-Gen Czar Yatco, Ed Tordesillas, Mai Fernandez, Beans, Bianca and Clarissa Gonzalez, Isabel and Josette Juan, President Dave Balangue, Tim Renn, Cesar Purisima, Jovy Bengzon, Ernest Cu, LV ³Yay² Tan, Bobby Macaset, Ante Dionisio, and Laura Lim. New Grads/Grads to be: Gino Dizon, J-Anne Rivera, Tricia Verceles, Manolet Montinola, Sandra Ramos and Jay Fonecier. The Darden group could muster only five alums, and had to bring in HK-based undergrad Ken, the DFA Secretary¹s son: Kellogg easily came with 23 members with mostly (80 percent) e-mail notification from eGroups Monitor VP, Dennis Valdes. His instructions: Send e-mail to: nuphils-subscribe<\@> egroups.com. No need to send a message. The first to sign up were U.S.-based Totit Jaun and Leo Clements (Lil¹s spouse). ShopWise owner Donnie Tantoco was abroad, but pledged to attend the next meeting.
