Dan Hoover married Nancy Kornfield in Troy, Mich., with Chad Quist as his best man. Gary Grube and Bryan Segedi joined the festivities as well-it was a great party weekend with a golf outing, great food and dancing. Dan and Nacy live in Birmingham, Mich., with their two greyhounds. For the last 18 months, Dan has worked for Netscape, helping Visteon use the Internet to separate from Ford, but he is always looking for new opportunities, so change is in the air. He hopes everyone is healthy and happy and wants to have a reunion in Aspen on March 10-17, 2001

Steve Flieder writes from Northern exposure! Steve went to Alaska with three other folks (including a guide). The four of them took a float plane 100 miles into the middle of nowhere and landed on Goodnews Lake and rafted down the Goodnews River 70 miles over 10 days, ending the trip at a Yupıik Eskimo village of 150 people on the Bering Sea. The float plane picked them up and brought them back to Dillingham, then back to Anchorage. The trip was from Aug. 19-31 and was incredible. They had grizzly bears in camp, saw several caribou, beavers, eagles, etc. and caught well over 150 salmon and other assorted fish.

Warren Frank is living in Chicago and enjoying the weather. His kids are getting older and wiser (He has a son and daughter). His family obtained a two-year-old Collie while he was out of town in August. Warren is still travelling too much for work, but part of his job is to lead, guide and support his coworkers. He says that each day really does get better and brighter, and that is a lot to say because he thought yesterday was pretty bright.

Gina Hinrichs is the TQM manager for John Deere WWW Combine. She will be completing her Ph.D. in Organizational Development this June.

Gary Medd is back home in Chicago! He transferred from Raleigh, N.C., back to Deere & Companyıs World Headquarters in Moline, Ill. He finished the move right before the fourth of July. His new job is as the director of financial shared services. Spending five years in Raleigh has made Gary appreciate the coming weather change here in the Midwest.

Pam Ramsey-Mullen has a new baby! Jessica!

Romauld Ponte is still living in Canada and working for Bombardier. He is the director of systems engineering projects and working for the JFK AirRail project, the Jackson monorail and on the future Las Vegas monorail (design and some manufacturing in Canada). They have just signed the contract in Vegas to build a new monorail near the strip. Romauld will soon be a Canadian citizen. It is hard for him to imagine that he will soon swear allegiance to the Queen of England! (Do not worry; he keeps his French citizenship). His kids speak three languages (better then he does) and are citizens of four countries. His wife, Laura, has her own language business (eduole.com). Everything is fine with him and he hopes to see everybody soon for a big party in Chicago.

Mary Hayes Cloys is looking for new opportunities! Mary is finalizing the closure of her plant in Pennsylvania. The people in the area of the plant have responded very well, setting records within the company for safety, productivity, reaction of customer complaints, workmanship and service. She would like to think that as the ³head kahuna² that her leadership and that of her staff has something to do with it. No doubt her NU experience contributed. She will be leaving Appleton Papers in January. She says 22 years in the same industry, let alone the same company, is quite enough. She is looking for other adventures in business. Other than that, OOTII had a wonderful visit together at Steve Flieders in the first part of August. They met in Boston for a long weekend and got caught up. Of course, they were a little short of team <\n>members but they toasted themŠseveral times, if you can imagine. Ha! They will be making plans for yet another reunion for next year. Take care all.

David Holckner takes a break from the Olympics to report in. ³GıDay all from Down Under. Normal life in Australia has been overtaken by the Olympics. First they had the 100-day Olympic torch relay that crossed the whole country (he knew a few torch bearers) and finally the games arrived last week. David and Amit went to the opening ceremony, beach volleyball, cycling, swimming and gymnastics and are going back to Sydney on Thursday for three days of athletics. The organizers and people of Sydney have done a fantastic job and everybody seems to be enjoying themselves. All of the U.S. visitors are loving Sydney as the exchange rate currently gives nearly two Australian dollars per U.S. dollar. In May, he rode a dirt bike from Cabo San Lucas to Ensenada in Baja, Mexico, in six days. 1,200 miles of desert riding on the Baja 1,000 race track. Very sore bottom, but fantastic experience. Their businesses are continuing to grow and are supplying moulded pulp food carry trays and drink carry trays to several Olympic venues.

Steve Thompson has recently sold his H2Only business and is already on to new ventures. Steve, wife and little baby are in Atlanta doing fine.

Brian Dietmeyerıs life remains busy. His little company continues to grow with assignments in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore coming up in the next month. Brian spent a big portion of the summer on water skis! His ³puppy,² (Alaskan Malamute) Dakota, is now up to 120 pounds! Please visit his Web site at www.e-thinkinc.com. Go Wildcats!
