Kate Atkinson and her collaborator acquired the rights to singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg's catalogue of music and wrote a jukebox musical titled Part of the Plan. They already have Broadway representation, Broadway actors lining up to play the lead roles, and a Grammy-winning arranger on board, but are first mounting a regional production. In February, they met with the artistic directors of several theaters in Chicago, including the Goodman Theatre, as well as the head of the musical theatre department at Northwestern. Kate writes: "I'd love to connect with any and all Kellogg alums in the area. Please don't hesitate to get in touch at (310) 497-1239 or kjapurple@yahoo.com."

For the past two years, John Miniati has been helping Mohan Sawhney create and teach a new class on product management for technology companies, which launched at Kellogg in 2012. The course received good student reviews after its first year, and the second year is going even better. Tom McCleary, Jai Shekhawat and Ram Krishnan spoke in a fun and informative panel discussion, "What Makes a Great Product Manager," in January 2013. John's "real job" for more than two years has been solo tech product/innovation/go-to-market consulting. His primary client is KnovationLearning, a K-12 educational software startup, and he is considering adding one or two other ed-tech clients this spring. If you know anyone in the space who needs help, please get in touch.
