Anthony Howe and his wife launched two businesses in Zimbabwe: a fuel distribution service and a soap manufacturer. They and their business partners "have both economic and philanthropic motivations" for choosing Zimbabwe, writes Anthony. "First, the Mugabe era is coming to a close. Second, the political integration and power sharing is irreversible at this point," since "Zimbabwe is homogenous from a tribal perspective."
"Third, Zimbabwe has much to recommend it as a go-forward economic platform: massive mineral wealth, dollarization, strategic assets and an educated English-speaking populace with a high literacy rate. Double-digit GDP growth is expected as the country recovers from the 'Lost Decade' and the Mugabe era."
