After 17 years as head of strategy for VHA Inc., Jeff Hayes left to start Koan Health, a healthcare technology company helping hospitals and their physician groups prosper under healthcare reform.

Heather Donnelly Annaloro and husband Charlie had another year of not sitting still: wine sipping in San Francisco after a long road trip from North Andover, Mass., visiting nieces and nephews at colleges along the way. Never dull with them.

Pat Ciriacks traveled to Swaziland, Africa, spending most of his time in Bulembu. Through his work at Creation Technologies, he hopes to create a self-sustaining community that provides care and education to AIDS orphans. Pat continues to enjoy Creation, and is now in his people and culture leader role full time. Daughter Jenny is in her second year in the physical therapy program at Marquette. Mark Proudfoot travels a lot, spending half his time in the U.S., but has also taken some exotic trips, including one to India. Hanne Olsen Proudfoot has started a consulting firm, was elected to the local school board and is very involved in improving school health standards. She's a competitive runner these days, and won a prize for Renkert Oil at a conference in Arizona.

Mike Wapner is focusing on energy efficiency in the green building industry. The rest of his time he spends on home projects. The Wapners prefer older homes with charm, so you know what that means. Daughter Julia is 13 and became a bat mitzvah in April. Other daughter Anna is in 11 and tends toward gymnastics. They continue on their quest to visit all 50 states and state capitols, with trips to Louisiana, Mississippi, Maine and New Hampshire.

Amy Wahlert Principi continues to work for her church and school, and she and husband Joe have adjusted to being empty nesters. Daughter Molly is graduating a teacher in 2013, and son Nick is graduating from high school. A family vacation to Europe covered Amsterdam, Paris and Normandy.
