Hiro Matsuzaki will lecture at the Future School of Global Education for a fourth year. He also will continue strengthening programs at the Japan-America Society and planning seminars for an environmental issues group. For the sixth year, he will perform as part of the male choral group Sing Joy, "seeking a joy of singing the value of life."

John Erickson was among 90 people who participated in Skyline Plunge! Chicago on May 5-6, 2012. The event was hosted by the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago and raised more than $120,000 for local lung disease research and programs. Erickson rappelled 27 stories of the Wit Hotel in memory of graduate school classmates Bob Philiotis, Tom Nachazel and Chris Miller, who all passed away within the last several years.

"There were only 75 of us in the first four-quarter program at Kellogg that started in the summer of 1973," Erickson said. "To lose three people since then seems like a surprisingly high number, and when they passed away it really affected my classmates and me. Skyline Plunge was a way to celebrate life, and to remember the guys who touched my life so positively."

Fellow alumnus Ralph Marol rappelled in memory of his wife, Maureen Gast-Marol '78. The friends held a party after their rappel to share video of the event with friends, family and other former classmates.
