Kellogg Alumni Club thaws out with spring and summer events!
Winters in the Twin Cities can be downright cold. And for
some time, the Twin Cities Alumni Club has been in a period
of hibernation. But Dean Jain’s visit here last October
left new seeds in the Kellogg community that have grown into
a revitalized club.
With
the volunteer guidance of Fred Hundt ’79, (who helped
organize Dean Jain’s visit, as well as Kellogg’s
very first TG!) and help of Stephanie Farsht ’97, Howard
Green ’01 and Scott Hanson ’00, the club has held
events in January and April. Each event has had a healthy
attendance and a wide range of graduating classes joining
in.
The club
has also re-established periodic e-mail newsletters to the
Twin Cities Kellogg community. These bimonthly newsletters
announce Alumni Club events, Kellogg updates, and other events
and news of topical interest to MBAs in the area. More Club
events are being planned for the summer and fall.
With the
recent changes in the local economy, the Twin Cities Alumni
Club has already provided some valuable networking opportunities.
Marcus McElroy ’98 learned of an opportunity at Target
Corp where he now works in finance. Planning the events have
lead to some interesting exchanges. Cathy David ’91
asked if she needed to furnish proof of graduation to attend
a recent event. She was told to staple her driver’s
license to her Kellogg diploma. Even without the precise paperwork,
she was ultimately admitted.
If you
would like more information about the club, would like to
attend club events, or would like to receive the e-mail newsletter,
please write a note to Scott Hanson at shanson2000@mmm.com. |
