Our “Career Path” event in April was a huge success with over 100 people attending. Thanks to Rick Berg, our club’s vice president of careers, for helping organize it, and thanks to Kellogg’s own Ann Browning for participating on the panel. Rick provided some great information for those MBAs conducting a job search in Atlanta. Additionally, we do have Ann Browning as a Kellogg Career Coach located in Atlanta to provide career assistance. Please contact Rick Berg for details at rberg@northhighland.com.

In May, the club put together and participated in the annual Atlanta Business School Alliance (ABSA) softball championship. This event was planned for families and business school grads to play for the championship among all participating schools. Don’t think that if one gets a bunch of MBAs together the occasion will just be a social event; it was quite competitive. I am happy to report that Kellogg won the challenge and brought home the “Silver Cup.” A special thanks goes to Kyle Antcliff, vice president of social planning, for pulling together the event for the ABSA, getting a Kellogg team together, and then (of course) winning the event.

Regarding other social events, we had a summer intern/new graduate social hour in June. We also are planning a fun outdoor social in Decatur with the Concert on the Green series on Sept. 14. Additionally, we continue to have monthly Social Hours the second Wednesday of the month at The Park Tavern in mid-town. Details for all will be distributed via our e-mail newsletter. If you are not part of this newsletter distribution and wish to be included on it, please send an e-mail to ctomseth1998@kellogg.northwestern.edu.

Regarding club leadership, we are changing the club officer positions in Atlanta. We will now have co-presidents. Chris Tomseth has agreed to be co-president of the club along with Sarita Soldz. Additionally, Rick Berg has agreed to renew his term as careers vice president and Kyle Antcliff has expressed interest in returning as social vice president. We are looking for more volunteers to help with organizing events, as well as to take on a leadership position with these changes. We will be having a club leadership meeting in August (date TBD). This meeting will include our 16 club class contacts by year as well as our current four club officers. If you would like to get involved, please send an e-mail to Sarita at ssoldz@mindspring.com.
