EMP-47

As I write this update I'm reflecting on where our class was one year ago. We were about to start the final live-in weekend and pre-graduation celebration luau, bonfire and evening out on the town.

Who can forget Dean Jacobs getting in the spirit at the luau with his straw hat, coconut bra and cigar, J.T. Weis cutting a striking pose (and rug) at the bonfire and the several people who arrived back at the Allen Center just in time for our last class on Sunday? They are all good memories, which I hope are not too distant for everyone.

Speaking of J.T., he finally took the job in Paris with Telma Retarder Inc., so be sure to stop in and say hello during your next visit. Sri Dasari has joined Brigade Corporation as president of Brigade India (yes, Sri and I work together now, but we are not the only classmates or study group-mates that current hold that honor).

Marlin Underwood recently joined Jeff Swallow at Magnetrol International Inc. Other career changes and promotions include Matt Gresge starting a new position leading the sales and marketing group for Moore Business Forms and Tim Schmidt receiving a significant promotion at Merck which included relocation to New Jersey.

Our new parents include April and Paul Beaupre and Maura and Bruce Johnson - Congratulations on the new additions to your families!

It was great to see several of our classmates in April at the Kellogg SuperCroc event at the Museum of Science and Industry benefiting Project Exploration. Bo Kemper generously arranged the event with world renowned paleontologist Dr. Paul Sereno, who led a guided tour of the exhibit explaining the science of finding this dinosaur-eating crocodile and the teamwork and logistics of leading an archeological dig. The kids were treated to several "hands on" demonstrations including being able to see and touch several live alligators, snakes and tortoises compliments of a visit by the Chicago Herpetological Society.
