Laure
Fullerton Headrick and her husband, Chris, proudly announce
the birth of their son, Gannen Fullerton Headrick. He was
born on Feb. 20, and entered the world at 6 pounds, 10 ounces.,
and 20 inches. Laure and her family are currently living in
San Francisco but will be moving to San Diego in the near
future.
Erik
Zimmer left Abbott and joined Deltagen Inc. as director of
business development where he is helping to start their European
subsidiary. He now has two kids, a girl and a boy. Erik and
his family miss the U.S. somewhat, but are adapting well to
France, and have renewed contact with other European alumni,
such as Emmanuel Mercier, now in London working for Gillette.
Rose
Joseph Heathcote and her husband are proud parents. "We
are thrilled to announce the birth of Hannah Rose Heathcote,
May 7. Hannah Rose is welcomed by big sister Cassandra and
big brother George." Rose continues to work at IBM as
a business unit executive and her husband, George, is a chiropractor
in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The family lives in Solon, Ohio.
Nikki
Tarlton Cole is managing her own consulting business and running
the ice cream franchise (MaggieMoo's) with her husband, Ron.
They welcomed a handsome baby boy, Joshua Stone Cole, into
the world on Feb. 6. They are having a ball with him. They
saw Sandy Alston at Tyson Corner mall in North Virginia and
she thought he was adorable as well. Kellye Tisdale Wicker,
who lives nearby, and Danni Duchatalier Boucree have visited
the Cole's new home in Gaithersburg, Md. Nikki recently visited
with Carolyn and Ivey Webb and their soon-to-be one-year-old,
Nyah, on a recent business trip to Chicago. They
are all managing business and expanding family lives.
Dan Teree
is enjoying life with his wife Katherine in San Francisco.
He continues to head the "TicketWeb" division of
Ticketmaster as vice president and COO. He and Carolyn Neck
(a.k.a., the mysterious Aussie exchange student from fall
1996), recently enjoyed an evening of famous bar band watching
(NRBQ) in San Francisco (and yes...they even got some free
tickets!).
Arvind
Jain and his wife, Alpana, welcomed a brand new member into
the family on March 9. Akash Jain arrived kicking and screaming,
weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces. And 21 inches. Although
he is a good bit bigger and very friendly by now. Along with
the big change on the family front, Arvind has also decided
to take a hiatus from the start-up world and return to a large
public company. Arvind is now product manager in a newly formed
product group at BEA Systems.
Mirabel
Gombe met up with Keith Rakow and Stephen Julien for dinner
when Keith came to Atlanta on a business trip this May. Mike
Murray '98 and Chantal Andriamilhamina and Carsten also came
to Atlanta to visit - Mirabel met up with them and had a lovely
time exploring the city with them. Mirabel attended a "bag
party" hosted by Vimla Gupta in Atlanta on May 31. Vimla
has a Web site for her business that sells specialty handbags.
Expected among attendees will be Shawn Cooper who made sure
to send the invitation to all her friends. What a great sport!
Wendy
(Menzies) and her husband Pete Senger are the proud parents
of Jessica Irene, born March 4. Jessica was 6 pounds, 5 ounces
and 18 inches at birth and has brought new meaning to the
words "all-nighter." The Sengers live in the western
suburbs of Chicago. For the third or fourth Kellogg World
in a row, Michael Teh is leading an international life of
leisure. On the work front, he's decided to cancel out the
rock star option (for zero talent reasons) and has narrowed
his choices to movie star, yoga instructor or both. He was
briefly tempted to join a talent management roll-up in Australia,
but decided to go traveling again instead. No wives or children
to report (that he's aware of).
Scott
Turtel has moved to Portland from Japan. Scott, Erin and their
two boys (Nate four-and-a-half and Matthew 18 months) are
decompressing from the expat life and adjusting well to life
in the states, but long for some good sushi and Japanese hospitality.
On the work front, Scott, still with Intel, is now starting
up Intel's latest development fab.
Jeff
and Eloise Patterson welcomed their third child, Henry Lloyd
Patterson in March 2002. Henry, Amelia (3.5) and Jamie (2)
are keeping Eloise plenty busy at home while Jeff continues
to work for Columbia Capital in Alexandria, Va.
On April
20, Kristin Dykema and Vladimir Barbieri were married in the
mountains above Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Vlad and Kristin met
in their very first Kellogg group and would like to thank
Professor Dranove for his arbitrary group selection! Joining
them for the three day wedding party were fellow Kelloggians,
Eduardo Capocchi and Roxana Velarde, Luis Giolo and Mariana
Postel, Rich Debrot and his wife Caroline, Erik Dykema (TMP
'95) and Evie Black Dykema (TMP '96). And Lincoln Singleton
'98 was the master of ceremonies! After a honeymoon in Itacare,
Brazil, they are now living in Coral Gables, Fla.
Emmanuel
Mercier and his wife, Muriel, moved from Boston to London
in
February. Emmanuel is now working on the Duracell business
as European business manager, and was still involved in the
FIFA World Cup until the end of June. They are enjoying their
new life in the U.K. and had the opportunity to see Pierre
Cherki, and his wife Deborah, as well as Alex Emery and his
wife, Veronica, and would like to catch up with other Kellogg
folks living in the area. You may contact Emmanuel via e-mail
at emmanuel_mercier@gillette.com (office) or mmmercier@ blueyonder.co.uk
(home).
John Owens
and wife Laura have expanded the family and now have three
monsters (John's words), Jack (5), Paul (3), and Elena (1).
John is now loving his job in Wilmington, Del., as an assistant
vice president of marketing for ING Direct, the retail banking
arm of Dutch financial giant ING Group.
Emma
Buis Michaux was born to Rick Michaux and his wife, Melissa,
on May 12. Rick is president of Corrigo Inc., an enterprise
software company in Redwood City, Calif., where classmate
David Popler is the executive vice president of operations.
Barbee
(Bartolome) Chuidian proudly announces the expansion of her
rapidly growing family! Her second child, Jaime Sebastian,
turned one in May; joining his two year old brother, Enrique
Tomas, in causing mayhem in their Hong Kong home! Barbee shares,
"having two kids under two was truly a handful but worth
every bit of trouble! Now that they are both officially "toddlers",
their home is a permanent playgroup. For
those visiting Hong Kong with children, feel free to drop
the kids off at their home to play while you enjoy the city!"
Joe Urban
is still growing his new company - Corvalence - and has started
production of the office supplies he designed. All of the
products connect to the fabric walls in cubicles. He's been
spending his days (and nights) designing and fabricating machinery
to manufacture the first product: Clip'nz. This means that
he's usually covered in grease and dust by the end of the
day - a far cry from the high-tech world. Burt Lampl has been
helping him in writing the business plan and David Popler,
Franco Cirelli and Michael Hilberman have been providing continual
moral support and business advice. Look for the products in
office supply stores towards the end of the year.
The company's
Web site is corvalence.com.
Patty
Caplan is still doing hospital project management for Freed
& Associates in the Bay Area and with hubbie Jonathan
of PDI/Dreamworks, raising her pistol-packing daughter Emma
(3).
Karl
and Ashley (O'Neill) Kleiderer proudly welcomed baby Nicholas
into the world on Sept. 7. After a rough start, he is doing
great and growing faster than ever. He loved meeting all the
new people at the reunion and would love to see anybody passing
through Chicago (of course mom and dad would too)! Ashley
is staying at home with Nick after her company went out of
business and Karl is still trading for William Blair. Ashley
taught herself some rudimentary HTML while Nick napped and
put together a great little family Web site at
home.earthlink.net/ ~kenyadog. She welcomes all comments/advice
from our techie classmates! They recently attended the wedding
of Jennifer Schlein
and Matt Podhajsky in St. Louis. In attendance were Janet
(Gardner) Long and husband, Justin Long, and Shelley (Smith)
Young and husband, James Young, who are all doing great!
Cathy
and Jeff Hess are delighted to announce the birth of their
baby boy, Andrew Jeffrey, on May 3 - the evening of our five-year
Kellogg reunion! He arrived nine weeks early and was also
welcomed by big sister Julia (15 months). Cathy and Jeff continue
to live in Toronto where Cathy is a consultant at Monitor
Company and Jeff is at Cadillac Fairview developing real estate
in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
Brian
Tobey reports that he continues working in management consulting
as a principal in AT Kearney's San Francisco office. Brian
married Alison Overall in Carmel this past Labor Day with
a number of the Class of '97 present (Chris Drews, Mark Crandon,
Cliff Wylie, Debra Bernstein, Sadhana and Jerry Joliet, Curt
Bagnal, Lance Donenburg, Brian Rudie, Gloria Maroti, Teri
Gordon, Rob Taylor, Al Miller, Mike Peck, Ed Snyder) and Lisa
Morrell '95 It's been an amazing ride ever since: they bought
a new home in November, picked up a puppy in December, and
on May 16, added Conner Jack Tobey to the family.
Jon and Rita Belmonte are still enjoying life in Southern
California. Their daughter, Hana, is more than 15 months old
and going strong.
Both Jon and Rita have taken to the triathlon course this
summer. Jon recently completed the California Half Ironman.
He is proud to announce that he finished between 40 and 90
minutes behind Kristi Anderson, Barbara McCollister, and Tamara
(Neuhausel) Bohlig, all of whom also did the race. Rita is
currently gearing up for her first outing, the San Diego International
Triathlon, which takes place at
the end of June. (Word has it that all this activity has prompted
Jon Wilk to trade in his Laz-E-Boy chair and Pop Tarts for
a spin bike and Powerbars... we'll see!) On the professional
level, Jon's company (The Active Network) had a big winter/spring,
completing a key acquisition and showing very strong year-over-year
growth for online registration and direct marketing services.
Rita is providing marketing consulting services on a few different
technology projects, including an interesting new Web site
that looks to launch later this
year.
