This
year promises to be an exciting one for the Kellogg Black
Alumni Club with numerous plans and programs that will make
the organization more prolific and beneficial to all our valued
alums. We have set a goal of becoming a model Kellogg alumni
organization and would like to share the steps we will take
this year to get closer to that goal.
Our
first priority continues to be our membership base, particularly
integrating older alums into our database and activities.
To be a great organization, we are going to need the full
cooperation of that group in addition to our more recent alums,
and we want to incorporate activities that will appeal both
personally and professionally.
Another
long-overdue initiative is re-establishing our commitment
to our communities, and while it is difficult to reach the
entire country with one program, we hope to provide tools
and opportunities wherever our alums happen to reside. In
addition, we hope to add a professional development component.
While the details are still being determined, this year will
set the foundation for years to come.
Our
Web site continues to evolve, and 2008 will bring even more
enhancements, such as our job section for postings of open
positions. Overall, our communications strategy will be even
more effective, providing each of our alums with timely and
relevant information through periodic e-mails, tri-annual
newsletters and home page postings. Outside of our activity
centers of New York and Chicago, we will use our partnership
with the regional Kellogg alumni clubs to communicate some
of the key national news relevant to the KBAC.
We
cannot stress enough that our success in 2008 is dependent
on our membership far more than our leadership. We need everyone
to encourage their classmates and friends to update their
information on the Web site, attend events, mentor current
and future Kellogg students and alumni, and most importantly
give us feedback on what you would like to see, do and learn.
We look forward to a year of growth and productivity in our
powerful network — reconnecting with old friends and
making new ones.
