EMP-61

Dear EMP-61 classmates, Hope this edition of Kellogg World finds you well. I think everyone has buckled down with the start of another business cycle, and more importantly, personal life cycles, so I didn't hear too much from around the grapevine. I did hear from Mike Ertz who is now a vice president of agency administration at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He sent me the announcement; it had something to do with doing funny presentations and making people laugh. Congrats to you, Mike. I also received a wonderful note from Sanjiv Shah. He and his wife, Amisha, had a daughter, Karina, on Sept. 26. He said she's an absolute joy and that they are both enjoying every minute of parenthood. I have seen Mike Boyle recently; he is helping yours truly with some charity work.

Todd L. Reding has been named the new president and CEO of the ASI-Modulex affiliate network covering Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. The company Reding will lead encompasses these territories, as well as 50,000 square feet of custom manufacturing space headquartered in Grinnell, Iowa. "I could have never achieved this without the training provided by Kellogg," he said. The 125-employee firm specializes in the planning, design, fabrication and installation of interior, exterior and digital signage. Reding resigned his post as vice president of Grinnell College after experiencing a class led by Kellogg Professor Steve Rogers and accepting the path of an entrepreneur. "Professor Rogers explained there are two types of people in this world; those that do what they say, and the 'I'm gonnas' who say this all their lives. I was tired of being an 'I'm gonna.' I took a risk and sacrificed a fruitful career in nonprofit management to follow an amazing entrepreneur and learn from his experience. Now, I'm running his company." Todd and his wife, Shannon, are raising their three children and reside in Grinnell.

Craig Shimasaki is CEO of InterGenetics and the OncoVue test, a genetic-based breast cancer risk assessment test that was launched commercially in January.

Please send me lots of information so next time I can sing your praises. All the best, every day.
