EMP-47
It's
been a busy several months for our EMP-47 classmates with
good news to report for many.
Sandy Ogg was featured in the Nov. 26 issue of The
Wall Street Journal with a front-page article in the Marketplace section. As Unilever's global
head of human resources, Sandy was interviewed about the creative
processes he has initiated there to identify, evaluate and
promote high-performing employees. The article referred to
Sandy's responsibility to improve productivity at the company
and credits some of the changes he has introduced with positively
impacting the company's sales and profitability.
Speaking
of creative and talented, Tony Green hosted a CD release
party in January for his second CD, "One Riot,
One Ranger." For most of us who didn't know about
Tony's musical talents, he has been playing guitar for more
than 15 years in a variety of styles including classical,
rock, jazz/fusion and folk/country. The party was a huge success
with more than 130 people attending and raising over $3,500
for a worthy charity that Tony supports. If you are interested
in learning more about Tony's music or listening to some excerpts
from both of his CD's (or purchasing a copy), visit greenhousechicago.com.
The
gentlemen of Delta 7 are bringing their talents together again
to help lead and grow Magnetrol. Jeff Swallow was recently
promoted to vice president and chief operating officer after
many years in several different positions within the organization.
In his spare time, Jeff is also currently completing his doctorate
degree in organization development/organization behavior at
Benedictine University. Marlin Underwood has also been
promoted to vice president and CFO at Magnetrol. He has financial
responsibilities for both domestic and global aspects of the
organization as well as for the subsidiaries. John Heiser
has recently joined Magnetrol as corporate officer and general
counsel. He will have several officer/director responsibilities
including sales, compliance, customer satisfaction and human
resources, as well as his duties as general counsel. Congratulations
to each of you.
The
annual EMP-47 holiday party at Berghoff was well attended
again this year. Thanks to Matt Gresge for his unfailing
dedication to organizing this get together and connecting
our classmates over lunch and some holiday cheer. A good time
is always had by all.
