EMP-43

Allison Adams moved back home to Southern California in early 2003 to work as vice president and corporate controller of Creativity Inc., the parent company of a group of hobby and craft distributors. Her focus was on building the financial infrastructure in a centralized location that served as a platform company for merger and acquisition integration. She recently assumed a new role of chief officer of Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt LLP, a public accounting firm. HCVT is the largest CPA firm based out of southern California. It is a great opportunity to stretch her wings outside of the financial side of a business and leverage that great Kellogg MBA. On a more personal note, her only daughter has graduated college and has been self-supporting the last two years, so Allison has indulged herself, using her newfound free cash flow in a series of vacations including skiing in California, Utah and Colorado, as well as trips abroad to Peru, Tahiti, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico and Hawaii.

Todd MacLaughlan's eldest daughter, Tara, got married in Greece during one of their stops on a European cruise, which included a visit to Egypt to see the pyramids.

Waj Husain is still at Microsoft and having fun. Anna is keeping the peace at home. Their two older daughters, Aliya and Nadia, graduated from college and have moved to the Big Apple. Chicago was just too "sleepy." His son, Amir, is doing Web development full time, and bringing in some decent contracts. Nyla, the youngest, is a senior and has her eyes on East Coast colleges. So, it will be an empty nest. The are looking at moving south in a couple of years.

Peter Kelly writes: "I cannot believe eight years have already passed since graduation and I moved back to New Jersey from Chicago. Jan and I now have four boys, with Ian and Liam joining Charles and Sean. We are now split between Knicks and Bulls fans, although neither camp is cheering too loudly at the moment. On the career front, fellow classmate Pat O'Brien, Pat's fiance Leslie Kuechenmeister and I have launched a new advisory firm, clearprogressadvisors.com. The firm will leverage Pat and Leslie's extensive background in developing product and operational strategies and layer in my background in developing financial strategies to offer a complete advisory package for middle market companies. The advisory firm is a nice change of pace after 18 years with the big banks."
