Finally, Heather
Daas reports: "I am still at Northwestern Memorial
Hospital, where we successfully opened the new Prentice Women's
Hospital in October. I've moved to a new project, facilitating
joint strategic planning between Northwestern's Feinberg School
of Medicine, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and the
hospital. The purpose of this plan is to align these distinct
organizations in the pursuit of Northwestern being nationally
recognized as a 'great' Academic Medical Center (AMC). This
is my first strategy job after a number of healthcare finance
and operations positions, and its been very rewarding to view
our organization in comparison to other industries and AMCs.
I'm also enjoying my interactions with the FSM faculty in
various specialties and gaining a better understanding all
the opportunities to make the healthcare experience one of
ease, compassion and respect for our patients. One of my co-workers
is completing his coursework in the Kellogg Part-Time MBA
Program in March, so I've enjoyed hearing about his classes
and catching up on the student experience through him. Charlie
and I are enjoying watching our son Griffin grow. We're very
fortunate he's enjoying being at NMH's daycare center (in
the same building as my office) and also has started Wiggleworms
at the Old Town School of Folk music. He's starting to take
after his parents in many ways, including his expressing his
opinions loudly and quieting down at church when the choir
(of which I continue to be a member) starts to sing. I always
enjoy catching up on the Class Notes and would be happy to
hear from any Kellogg alum."
Thanks
again for all the updates. I hope to see or hear from each
of you sometime in 2008. |
