Kirk and Rob Marcolina '99

1999 — Full-Time

Esra and Hasan Yardimci welcomed a son, Derin Yardimci, on Oct. 6. Derin and his sister, Deniz (3), are enjoying Chicago's winter, given they had lots of snow to play with recently. Also in October, Hasan joined Sears Holdings in Chicago as a director of customer strategy. Hasan formerly held positions at Miller Brewing Company and McKinsey after graduating from Kellogg. If you find yourself wondering about what appliances or tools to get for your home or what beer to drink, give Hasan a call.

Shira Levine and husband Dan Halperin welcomed baby Gabriel Eli Halperin into their lives on Dec. 5. In January, the little family was treated to a visit from Scotsman and Buckethead Graeme Alexander, who was in the Bay Area for a trade show.

Krista (Edlund) and JP Gallagher recently expanded their family. They welcomed Morgan Marguerite, at a little under 6 lbs. Liam Edlund was their big guy at 7lbs even. They were born on Nov. 5 up in Evanston, just blocks from Kellogg.

Gwen and Bart VanderBurg are delighting in the newest addition to the VanderBurg family, daughter Carlin Hea, born Sept. 24.

Theresa (Riedman) and Dave Nute have had the opportunity to see many Kellogg friends in Oregon, starting with their wedding last summer. Class of '99 members at the wedding included Sonya Choe Miller, David Miller, Stephanie Gallo Tyler, Bob Miller, Elgin Pearson, Aimee Irwin, Jen and Greg Anderson, Kathryn Sugerman, and Sara Morris. It was a great day on Theresa's family farm.

Dave and Theresa have also been fortunate to connect with Marina Hood and her husband, Ken, who now live across the river in Vancouver. Last fall they had a great dinner party with Rachel and Dave McCormick, who live in Portland now. It is always such a treat to connect with our classmates and their families.

Susan and Glenn Ward were happy to announce their newest arrival, Connor Richard Ward. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, measured 18  inches long, and surprised mom, dad and the nurses with his full head of dark hair. Mom and baby are both doing great and have been introducing Connor to his big sister, grandparents and family friends.

Evita and Tim Twerdahl welcomed their first child in early January: M. Huxley Twerdahl. Huck, as they're calling him, is keeping them quite busy.

After much waiting, Dave Parikh and family moved back to India in December. Dave is leading most of the product team of Virgin Mobile India as chief product officer. Since the move, Dave has been busy traveling across the country trying to ramp up operations as they prepare for launch of the business. Anuja and their kids (Ananya, 3, and Ishaan, 1) have kept them busy socializing with family members and friends in Ahmedabad.

Rob (Tyler) Marcolina has just returned to Los Angeles after spending the last 1.5 years 'home' in Sydney on transfer with Bain. He, husband Kirk and daughter Sophie (2) really enjoyed their time visiting with family and friends, but decided to return to L.A. for now. Rob continues to be a partner at Bain and is focused on the media industry.

As always, keep the wonderful news and updates coming.
