Michael
Carrier
provided this update from Missoula, Mont.: "I'll have
been the hotel controller at the DoubleTree Missoula Edgewater
for two years in April. I left the Hilton Anchorage in Alaska,
where I was the club president and sole member of the Alaska
club for a couple years, in January 2005 and started with
the DoubleTree in April of 2005. I believe I am the only member
of the alumni network in the hotel industry since I've had
a couple of students contact me about hotels. My wife, Mary
Jo, has started her own eBay store (Pursenicity) dealing in
vintage and designer purses and other such items. My daughter
Nicole is a very active first-grader and got her purple strip
belt in kempo karate in February and took third in age/skill
level at her first tournament last year. She is looking forward
to more tournaments this year. We are all looking forward
to visits from both sets of parents this summer. Nicole's
Grandma Gynn and birth mom Becki spent a week with us in February.
Last August we went to Ohio to surprise my parents for their
50th wedding anniversary. If anyone's travel plans bring them
through Missoula they can find me in the accounting department
at the DoubleTree."
Augustin
"Augie" Rojas left Motorola at the end of 2005 to join Nortel
as vice president of change management, and moved his family
from Long Grove, Ill., to Raleigh, N.C. Augie's wife, Rosie,
has made a lot of new friends and really loves living in the
South. Heidi graduates from Baylor in August with a degree
in marketing for music entertainment after an internship in
Nashville with a record label. Kevin is going to be a senior
at Wakefield High where he plays football and runs track.
Gabriele
Meissner Doyle, co-owner and business manager of River
Bend Christian Counseling, writes: "We've made it for
over two years now and are embarking on our mission to help
addicts gain recovery and educate the community about the
dangers and risks involved in this disease. We've been in
operation long enough to apply for several state programs
to enlarge our patient base and are gaining a solid reputation
in our areas of expertise."
My life has
been interesting since leaving Motorola last summer to become
the vice president of marketing for Harman Music Group based
in Salt Lake City. Harman Music Group (BSS Audio, dbx Professional,
DigiTech, Lexicon) is part of the professional audio group
of Harman International. With two kids, Kevin and Amy, at
Barrington High School, my wife, Diane, and I decided not
to move the family last summer. As such, I have been doing
the commuting thing which is less than ideal. The skiing,
however, has been great on the weekends when I stay at my
rented condo in Park City, Utah. |
