1988
Hope to see you at
our 20th reunion.
David Garrity and
I linked up on Plaxo. He joined The Dinosaur Group in April
2006. This firm was founded in 2000 by Cantor Fitzgerald alumni,
and now has six offices (NYC, London, Zurich, Sao Paolo, Istanbul,
Riyadh) and 65 employees. David's focus is putting higher-margin
activities into the business mix, so he's raising capital
and providing advice on strategic transactions. You can go
to dinogroup.com and see his strategy reports on equity
strategy and the tech sector.
Mary
Kay Boitano-Nelson wanted us to know that after eight
years as a stay at home mom and dabbling in a variety of part-time
projects, she's baaaack...full-time in the business world.
She's in the client services/analysis department of ForeSee
Results, Inc., which does satisfaction research on Web sites
using a proprietary methodology out of the University of Michigan
called the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI.) Their
attitudinal data is a great compliment to Web analytics, which
is behavioral data. Working with many national clients across
many fields provides great variety, and she's loving being
out at it full-time again. Husband Steve, twin girls (8),
and other daughter (12), are "adjusting" to this
new chapter.
Mike Wapner
is still enjoying his role as director of finance with Midwest
Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA). They promote energy efficiency
through programs and education. His wife, Lan, daughters Julie
and Anna are adjusting fine to him returning to the workforce
after a hiatus (maybe they've been talking to Mary-Kay's family
for support?). Last year the family traveled to Hong Kong
and Macau, where Julia and Anna could meet their large extended
family, and some Disney magic, Hong Kong style. Mike's also
a trustee at their synagogue and is volunteering on an environmental
task force for the Chicago park district.
Mara
Salz Einstein has published a new book, Brands of Faith.
She was on a big blowout promotion tour for her book in January/February,
including radio interviews, book signings. "You can keep
continually updated on my thinking about marketing and religion
and any future events at brandsoffaith.com."
Fred
Nelson still owns his own consultancy firm,Nelson Healthcare
Consulting, where business is picking up sufficiently, just
in time for college tuitions. He's also into fly fishing,
and tags along to enjoy his son Connor's traveling hockey
team's games. Other son Erik is now at Boston University,
studying engineering.

Tom
and Diane MacDonald are raising their four kids
in Oregon. Now its one highschooler, one junior highschooler,
and two grammar schoolers. Tom still manages Intel's server
and storage components business. Challenges with high tech
have not missed Tom, but he's helping Intel work through business
resizing and integrations. Diane is busy volunteering at grammar
school and managing the logistics of this big family.
Amy
Walhert Principi enjoyed a lot of travel in '07. The family
took a trip to Italy in June, including Rome, Florence, Orveito
and Venice. She went on a cruise with her mom and sisters
for spring break, visiting Belize, Key West and Mexico. Daughter
Molly is 16 and son Nick is 12.
Dennis
Sheehan is working for SiRF in San Jose, a big supplier
of components for Global Positioning, location services. Raise
your hands if you got one
of these devices at the holidays. The rest of us are
still getting lost on the way to grandma's. He's officially
old now, has a daughter in college, along with two in high
school. Kids are active in swimming and jazz ensembles.
Mark
and Hanne Proudfoot have moved to Denmark,
expanding the European operations of their company. Kids are
Danielle, Thomas, Steven and Kristin.
Brent Koehler
continues to develop his firm, Summit Hill Consulting, helping
clients grow their businesses, one at a time. He always enjoying
an annual fly fishing expedition, this year in Missoula, Mont.
Pat
Ciriaks and family enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas and Sedona
(we took the same trip). Las Vegas wasn't costly, thanks to
wife Kelly's luck on the slots at the airport leaving town.
Pat found a couple of acquisitions for his firm Creation Technologies,
an electronic manufacturing service (EMS) provider focused
on manufacturing complex electronics for businesses in the
industrial controls, instrumentation, medical, wireless and
other communications, safety and security, aerospace, and
transportation markets. Now he's got the opportunity for the
next step, integrating them into the company. Daughter Jenny
is into volleyball, and son Kevin is giving up volleyball
to pursue his medical degree.
Jacqueline
Celestin-Andre is married to Gil, a Frenchman, and they
children are Max (4) and Tiare (1). Jackie's been in Paris
for more than 10 years and loves it there, but maybe someday
NYC will call her back again. She loves that NYC pace, just
needs the Parisian museums. They plan to raise kids to speak
both American English and French, with English being the challenge,
as Jackie works/speaks in French all day, working for L'Oreal
for 8 years. With L'Oreal, she's working in the Africa, Orient
and Pacific zone management team. Its allowed her to visit
some fascinating places, like Dubai, Lebanon, South Africa,
Niamey, India, and she loves the diversity in how you "get
it done" in these varied cultures.
The Jane Goodall Institute
has announced the appointment of Sally Sharp Lehman
as New England regional director of Roots & Shoots. Roots
& Shoots works with more than 100,000 young people in
nearly 100 countries to connect youth who share the desire
to make the world a better place. Sally will be responsible
for providing strategic direction for the growth of the Roots
& Shoots youth network in Massachusetts, Connecticut,
Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.
