James
Parker '48 of Evergreen Park, Ill., graduated from our Chicago
campus and subsequently earned an masters from the Tech Institute.
He worked for the U.S. government for many years. He and his
wife, Dorothy, have seven children (several with medical degrees)
and 24 grandchildren.
Roger
Olson '48 of Rockford, Ill., retired from the presidency
of Andco Distributors Corporation, also of Rockford. Today
he enjoys golfing, biking, gardening and reading. He and his
wife, Marion, have taken many trips to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,
and Phoenix. They have two children and three grandchildren.
Robert
Peters '48 of Norridge, Ill., who also received
a master's degree in economics from Loyola University, is
retired from AT&T in Chicago. He continues to enjoy golfing.
He and his wife, Marjorie, have traveled to California and
Colorado. They have two children, four grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Erik Roos '48
of North Barrington, Ill., attended class on the Chicago campus.
He served as a Navy pilot for 16 years, beginning in World
War II. He is retired from a career in his own consulting
business. He and his wife Mildred have had many travels to
Louisana and Florida.
Francis J. McFadden
'48 writes: "I worked for U.S. Steel for 38 years,
traveling from Pittsburgh through the Midwest and the West
Coast and to Quebec, Canada, and Managua, Nicaragua. After
retirement, I worked as a management consultant for six-and-a-half
years. I also worked for 16 years for AARP's program with
the IRS to provide free tax help to the elderly. The last
three years I was a district coordinator with 60 volunteers
at 20 locations covering the area from Lansing, Ill., to Orland
Park. Later I was elected as president of a home owners' association
in Pinellas Park, Fla. I serve as treasurer of a local chapter
of a St. Vincent de Paul Society."
