Faith Leaders Week

Creating Healthy Growth in Congregations

Growth is an essential indicator for a flourishing faith community – but not all growth is healthy. Is your congregation experiencing good growth that deepens faith and advances mission, or are you distracted and overwhelmed because of a lack of focus and trying to do too much? Just as gardeners must carefully tend their gardens to cultivate healthy growth, leaders of faith communities must be watchful and intentional about how to manage the growth of their congregations.

Join fellow faith leaders—alongside esteemed faculty from Kellogg and Northwestern University—for an enriching and practical leadership development program about “Creating Healthy Growth in Congregations.” Hosted by the Kellogg School’s Center for Nonprofit ManagementFaith Leaders Week is a unique executive education program designed specifically for faith leaders who seek to lead with wisdom, vision, and resilience in an evolving world.

This year’s theme, “Creating Healthy Growth in Congregations,” will challenge leaders of new and established congregations alike to think differently about the task of leadership and the stewardship of the congregation’s mission. Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning, you’ll gain essential insights for fostering sustainable growth, including leading with a “start-up” mindset, cultivating a thriving culture for paid and volunteer staff, and clarifying your congregation’s definition of effectiveness in ministry.

Join us at Northwestern University’s Downtown Chicago campus for this transformative learning experience designed to equip you with the clarity, confidence, and strategies needed to lead your faith community forward.

What Participants Say

“Faith Leaders Week was an inspiring, motivating, and reflective experience filled with the kind of wisdom and warmth not usually associated with a business school environment. The faculty were knowledgeable and felt very real to me--not only teachers but practitioners. This first experience has led me to seriously explore more training opportunities with Kellogg.”
Pastor, Harvest Community Church

“The Faith Leaders Week program was the most valuable leadership training that I have taken because the information was applicable to a congregational setting, grounded in research, and taught by professors who have experience in leading congregations. Anyone who serves in a leadership position within a congregation would benefit from the knowledge itself and exercises that help us to apply [it] in our own communities.”
Rabbi, Temple Beth Haverim Shir Shalom

“The Leadership aspect of the program was so informative, relevant, and clearly had been planned with great thought & attention. The Faith component added a dimension I had underestimated before arriving. There was a uniquely special energy that was imbued in everything we did. I loved being with a group of people (fellow students & professional staff) that "got me". Exploring the nuances among faith orientations was fascinating! And it is no surprise that we are more similar than not. In addition to the plethora of skills I hope to employ, I also discovered pieces of my personality that have a huge impact on my leadership style and success.”
Co-President, Central Synagogue Beth Emeth
