Andy Smith '60 passed away at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati on Jan. 4, 2013. He was 74 years old.
Born May 31, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo., Andy served three years in the U.S. Navy after earning a degree in management from Northwestern University. Following his release from the Navy, he earned his MBA from University of California-Berkley in 1964.
He joined Procter & Gamble's market research department in February 1965. During his 28-year career, he worked in virtually every product area of the company.
Andy was deeply involved in volunteer efforts in Cincinnati. These activities included serving on the boards or board committees of Maple Knoll Village, Cincinnati Art Museum Duveneck Association and Cincinnati Park Board Volunteers. Through the Executive Service Corps, he consulted for the boards of Talbert House, Dohn School and the Cincinnati Choral Society.
Andy is survived by his brother Don of San Jose, Calif., his nephew Gregg Smith of Clayton, N.Y, and his niece Brooke Haskins of Santa Cruz, along with their children, Gabriella Smith and Seth Haskins.
