Jay Riley wasn't as far away from medical care during a recent trip to Iceland with girlfriend and fellow Northwestern grad Kristen Forgea. The pair spent their time visiting some of the many waterfalls and Jay wrote that the country is beautiful and they can't wait to go back.

Fabio Mainieri and Rodny Altez spent 10 summer days exploring the many beauties of the Eastern European coast. During the course of the trip they reported that they were able to have "live meetings" with classmates currently living on three different continents. They called Alfonso Yañez in Madrid, Jorge Heighes in Peru and Nicolas Valenzuela in Dallas, all from the beach in Croatia.

One of our classmates stayed a little bit closer to home this summer. Danny Resnick spent August brushing up on his backhand and capped off the summer by winning his club's end-of-the-summer championship over Labor Day weekend.

Nadia Majid went on a Grecian vacation en route to Stephanie Pirishis' wedding in April, making stops in Crete, Santorini and Athens. She also did some local traveling and completed her rotation program at Sony Music Entertainment before taking on a new role at MTV Networks International in digital business development.

Kailei Richardson, Nadia Majid and Joe Danon '08 are the brains behind TGs in NYC, which is a cocktail event held at the end of every month. The organizers reported a great turnout during the summer months and hope to continue with these well-attended events as we head into the fall/winter. Reach out to one of the organizers to get involved.

There is also a new organization for JD/MBAs in NYC. The group plans to have regular events (every couple of months) ranging from social to cultural to intellectual. They had their kickoff on Sept. 10 at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola: Jazz at Lincoln Center, where they saw the Renee Rosnes quartet as part of their Women in Jazz celebration. Send Nadia an e-mail at nmajid12@gmail.com to get involved.

Joanna Hamilton and her husband John '05 relocated to San Francisco in the spring. Joanna is an associate marketing manager at Diamond Foods. They are the makers of Emerald Nuts and traditionally have a spot during the SuperBowl, so pay extra attention during the commercials this year.

Krishna Kumar writes: "I completed two years with Booz & Company and I am happy to be still employed. My family and I live in Evanston. My son (5) is at the Roycemore School in pre-K. My wife, who was with Deloitte, is working as an application development manager at Kellogg. This change has further strengthened our ties to the school. If you are unable to log into your alumni sites, now you know whom to blame!"

After spending the last two years in Evanston after graduation, Sze-Meng Soon and his family moved back to Singapore in May. He left McKinsey in Chicago and is working at Visa as a director of strategy for the Asia-Pacific region.

And now, some news from all of our classmates who have welcomed children in the past few months.

Vatsala Misra and her husband Niloy Sanyal wrote with a belated note. They became proud parents to baby boy Rohaan, born on Jan. 26. The family lives in Greenwich, Conn. Vatsala resumed work with McKinsey & Company in August.

Phil Preuss and wife Meg had baby Finley Constance on March 26. The family is enjoying life in the Cole Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.

Eric Koussemon and his wife Angelique are happy to announce the birth of their third child, Elikya, on May 7 in Atlanta. The family relocated to Sandton, South Africa. Eric is working as an investment officer at AfriCap, a private equity firm specializing in social and responsible investment.

William Doolan Cosman was born to proud parents Emily and Matt Cosman. Will was born on June 3 and weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 20 1/2 inches. Matt says, "He seems to be developing quite the personality and he's been a lot of fun." The Cosmans live in Hingham, Mass., and Matt is still working in the strategy group at Fidelity.

Andrea Malik Roe and husband Steven Roe welcomed their first child, Dylan Charles Roe, on July 20. Dylan weighed a whopping 9 pounds, 10 ounces and joins "big brother" Deacon, their lab mix. Andrea's Facebook page has an assortment of great photos of the growing family.

Bryan Kenna and wife Kirsten welcomed Walker Whitney Kenna on July 21. Bryan wrote in to say that everyone is doing great and that the newly expanded family enjoyed the last vestiges of summer at the beach in North Carolina.

Emily Thomas and husband Matt had baby boy Cooper Jonathan Thomas on July 31. Emily says: "Despite a 19-hour labor, Cooper is just a super happy kid. We're lucky!"

Aks Gulati is still at Booz and wrote to let classmates know that he and his wife had a second child over the summer. Rishi was born at 6:29 a.m. on Aug. 18, weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce. Aks writes: "Mom and baby are doing very well. Rishi's mom and elder sister are clearly excited to have him around. Dad, on the other hand, was a bit tired after a long delivery!"

Frederic Pinchon and his wife Caroline also welcomed a child. Frederic writes, "Our first boy, Victor, was born on Aug. 19 in Seattle at 7 pounds, 4 ounces and 20 inches. He and his mother are doing fine." Frederic is still at Microsoft and is gearing up for the cold winter in Washington.

Brandon Edlefsen and wife Janelle had Rachel Lee Edlefsen at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 27, weighing in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces. Brandon reports that oldest daughter Avery is doing well and loves being a big sister. The Edlefsens live in Virginia, where Brandon is a business development manager at Kollmorgen in Radford.

Lizette Williams and husband Charles welcomed the newest addition to their family, Olivia Sonia Williams, at 6:27 a.m. Aug. 29. Olivia weighed in at 5 pounds, 7 ounces. The family is doing great.

Phil Ordway and wife Angela had baby boy John Ordway at 10:47 p.m. Sept. 1, checking in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces and 22 inches.

We also welcomed a few children who are the offspring of double Kellogg parentage!

Neal Narayani and Angela Woodard Narayani welcomed their first child, Dilan Neal Narayani, into the world on May 13. Angela wrote that she enjoyed a summer vacation (aka "maternity leave") with Dilan and recently returned to work at Harrah's in Las Vegas.

Cullen Bishop Smith was born to Bobby and Maggie (Hulce) Smith on June 16. Mom and dad are still working at McKinsey in Chicago and Maggie headed back to work in October.

Kellogg duo Emily '05 and Lance Garrison had a little boy, Parker Russ Garrison, on July 24. Lance reported that all are doing well in Atlanta.

Melissa and Chris Gregory are excited to announce the birth of their son, Spencer Harlow Gregory. Spencer was born on July 27 in San Francisco and the family will continue to live in the "City by the Bay."

John Wilbeck writes: "My wife Cheryl Cua Wilbeck '08 gave birth to our first child, Gabriel Roger Wilbeck, at 8:48 p.m. Sept. 10. Gabriel came in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 inches. He and his mom are doing well." John noted that aside from the sleep deprivation, life is pretty much the same in the River North neighborhood of Chicago. Cheryl is still at Opportunity International and John continues to work in real estate with Hines.

Todd Melby had a summer of big changes. He writes: "I got married in May to Leslie Anne Geiger. Our wedding was held at the First Colony Inn in Nags Head, N.C. There were about 140 people in attendance, with John Lee and his wife Lyndsi Lee '08, Ken Rice, and Jon Fefer representing Kellogg. The ceremony took place on the back stairs of the bed and breakfast, with a view of the ocean. The outdoor reception took place right next to the venue with plenty of sun and a cool breeze coming off the water just over the dunes to the east."

"Leslie and I honeymooned just north of the wedding in Duck, N.C. We spent the week enjoying all the Outer Banks has to offer. We're now busy making our house a home in Durham, N.C. I was also promoted (you can promote yourself when you work at a start-up) to CFO/COO of Precision BioSciences."

Members of the Class of '07 ventured to beautiful San Sebastian, Spain, to celebrate the June 13 wedding of Zeb Warren and Aitor Garcia. Kellogg attendees included Abby Phelps and her husband Mason, Louisa Sadler, Kristen Fedak, Erik Conroy and Sarah Teunis.

Another classmate, Beth Clark, was also married in Europe this summer. She tied the knot with Gerrit Reepmeyer on Sept. 5 at Schloss Bensberg, a castle outside Cologne, Germany. Kellogg alums who made the journey for her nuptials included Brad and Danika (Roj) Weidman and Chris and Danika (Van Beek) Addy.

Anwei Li and Andy Gaies married on Sept. 8 in New York City. Anwei and Andy were joined by many Kelloggians for the festivities and the newlyweds honeymooned in Morocco.

Stephanie Pirishis wrote in belatedly with news of her wedding and more: "I moved to Chicago with a transfer from BCG last fall. Joris Wijpkema and I were married in Cyprus on April 24. As we wanted to make sure it was worth the trip for all our friends, we had two days' worth of activities scheduled around the ceremony, including a guided tour of some the sites and a dinner and dance party! We had an incredible group of Kellogg people make the trip from as far as San Francisco and India including: Jaap Backx, Anita Barci, Amanda Brimmer, Tibor Friedrich, Anant Goenka, Antonia Karbe, Guido Kruse, Nadia Majid, Paul Riccardella, Darren Schluter, Sebastian Schwarz and Matt Singleton.

Following the wedding, Stephanie and Joris embarked on a wild honeymoon that included scuba diving in the Seychelles as well as junkets to Dubai and Paris. What a way to spend the summer!

And that wasn't the only double Kellogg wedding!

Kim Hickey and Ashish Desai were married in San Ramon, Calif., on May 30. Many of their Kellogg classmates were in attendance to help them celebrate the weekend, which was complete with a tutorial in Garba Raas dancing, a horse procession, wedding crashers (thank you Melissa G.), and not one, but two sing-alongs of "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Don't Stop Believing." Sounds like they relived a normal night out at Kellogg! Kim and Ashish honeymooned in Fiji and are enjoying living in San Francisco near many of their Kellogg friends.

Shweta Vyas and Adam Carley were married in a traditional Indian ceremony in Atlanta on July 4. According to Adam, "Many friends from Kellogg were in attendance and they showed that the Class of 2007 can still party hard." The groom arrived on a white horse, preceded by a dancing herd of family and friends with strong Kellogg representation. A moving Hindu ceremony was followed by a reception that lasted long into the night. According to Adam and Shweta, the last people on the dance floor were ... you guessed it ... the Kellogg crew, with KAOS Peru '07 and the Cash Cow ladies at the center of the action. The bride and groom wrote to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who was able to attend. They said, "We are only sorry that we didn't manage to get a photograph of everyone together at once."

And last but not least, I, too, was married over the summer. Jeff Kline and I met during business school when we were summer associates in Bain's Chicago office and I spent most of second year jetting off to Palo Alto on weekends (not a bad way to escape the blustery winter in Evanston). We joined Bain's San Francisco office together after graduation, and we tied the knot in Hingham, Mass., on June 27.

Fortunately Matt and Ali (Pitzer) McCourt were in attendance, because a bus full of our guests broke down at 11 p.m. up the street from Matt's parents' house in Hingham. The McCourts chivalrously welcomed alums Betsy Cantlin, Neil Seyffert, and Meghan Coles for an evening of debauchery while other Kellogg guests, including bridesmaid Paulita David, Deidre Stoken, Mike McClurg, Ryan Clark, Carolyn Fusfeld '08 and Ryan Fuller '06, hung out roadside during the long wait for a replacement vehicle.

In other news, I left Bain shortly before the wedding and took a job at Genentech, where I work in the marketing department for Lucentis, which is a $1B+ biologic drug used to treat wet age-related macular degeneration. I run into fellow alum and Genentech-er Brannan Schell on campus regularly and we are hoping to welcome more alums into the fold next year. Keep in touch, and send your updates my way!
