Bay area classmates Linsey (Simpson) Gallagher, Vanessa Zielke, Janey (Dean) McWhorter, Dorothee (Gutierrez) Fisher, Erica (Post) Rabb along with husbands, sons, and even some non-Kellogg guests got together for a pre-summer party at Hog Island Oyster Company on Tomales Bay. Vanessa shares, “We had a great time shucking, sucking and BBQ'ing oysters (grass fed burgers for the less adventurous palates) alongside the bay.”

On April 6, Brian and Rebecca Grimm welcomed Casey Joshua Grimm. He was born at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and is now a much heavier baby at six months. They are still in Boston and Becky is back to work at Lippincott (a brand strategy consulting firm).

Tiffany and Tobi Laczkowski welcomed a baby girl, Caroline Jane, on Father's Day, June 21. Tobi says it's the most expensive Father's Day gift he's ever received. Caroline joins her big brothers Grant (6) and Charlie (3) at home in Evanston. Tobi is a manager at ZS Associates in Evanston.

Kim and Doug Munro had a second baby boy on July 24, Arthur James Monro, who joins big brother Thomas. Doug is COO of a VC-backed U.K. property startup called Zoopla, which he joined after saying a fond farewell after five years at eBay last year.

Neil, Jasper and Samantha Levine are thrilled to announce the arrival of baby boy No. 2, Benjamin Segall, who weighed in at 9 pounds, 4 ounces on Aug. 10. “Big brother Jasper is thrilled (and gentle, so far!) as are we,” Sam writes.

Tricia and Albie Frantini are proud to announce the birth of their son Nicholas on Aug. 19. He joins his twin brothers (2). With three children under three years old, the Frantinis have our work cut out for them these next few months!

Wayne Borduin and family – wife Stacie and children, completed their sixth move (ninth if you count transitional housing) since joining Chevron seven years ago. The family is getting settled and enjoying the Miami sun. In March, they celebrated the arrival of baby No. 5, Susanna Hope. As Wayne puts it, “La vida es loco, pero todo esta bien!” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

In a ceremony on the end of a pier over the water on Aug. 1, Shannon and Brooke Stabbert exchanged wedding vows. Fellow classmate, John Thee, officiated the ceremony and they enjoyed a reception on the water’s edge in Seattle with Julia and Neal Freeland, Jill and Josh Holmstrom, Bridgette and Dan Nettesheim, and Stephanie (Blackburn) Freeth and Tim Freeth ‘01.

Ana Villegas and husband Stephen visited Chicago to attend the U2 concert and got a chance to catch up with several Kellogg friends.

Katherine Gregory shares: “These past couple of years have been an interesting journey from the corporate world at Williams-Sonoma to working as a chef in the mountains to working to get healthier foods into our schools here in Colorado. And finally, it seems I have found the answer to the question, “what do I want to be when I grow up?” or at least from a career perspective. I am excited to share that I have joined Clementine Art, a startup based in beautiful Boulder, Colo., as the vice president of operations. I love living in Boulder, and the guest room is ready for visitors!”

Christine and Bernardo Silva have a new addition to the family! Nicolas was born in Chicago on June 5. Bernardo writes: “Between dirty diapers and sleepless nights, we are enjoying every minute of it. In case you are wondering, yes, we are still living in Chicago. After leaving A.T. Kearney in 2005, I have been working as a principal at Bridge Strategy Group LLC, a boutique management consulting firm in Chicago.”

Keep an eye out for Kate Solomon’s new business, Babo Botanicals, which provides natural hair, scalp, and skincare for babies and kids, launching this winter.

Rahit Malhotra is a partner at the L.A. office of McKinsey & Co. where he focuses
on pharma and biotech strategy consulting with some private equity thrown in for good measure. He has a girl (1) and a boy (3) so things are plenty busy at home but not too busy to go on a great vacation this summer to the San Juan Islands.

To get away from a dreary summer in the northeast, Jill and Jay Koval took Laney, Rylie and Caroline to Cabo. Jay writes, “We had a great time playing in the ocean and swimming in the pools, and thanks to H1N1 fears, experienced little competition for the swim-up bar seats!”

Sarah Zehr was selected as one of Central Illinois Business Forty Under 40, published in the Central Illinois Business magazine. The magazine is published by the News-Gazette, the local Champaign-Urbana newspaper.

While basking in the sun on a vacation this summer on the coast of Croatia, Julie Saliba was shocked to find no less than twelve billboards scattered throughout the countryside announcing the speaking engagement by Professor Philip Kotler in Zagreb, miles and miles away. His media coverage beat out U2’s upcoming concert twelve to one. I guess that is why he is the marketing guru!
