In Memoriam: Kara Kei-Ling Aya-Welland passed away on July 13 after a heroic six-year battle against a very rare cancer (neuroendocrine atypical carcinoid). Kara will be remembered for her extremely generous and accepting human spirit; always willing to give somebody a chance; always willing to believe in someone and always willing to be a friend. With her humor, zest for life and profound love of nature, Kara was a risk taker who met a challenge headlong and in the process, she inspired those around her to greater heights. Her family and friends can universally share memories of unique experiences with Kara, who was driven by her indomitable pursuit of life. These treasured memories ensure that Kara's spirit will live on in those who knew and loved her. We celebrated Kara on a beautiful evening in Lake Forest Park in St. Louis. Claudia Hung, Ken Bower and Carl Leuschner attended, although many more were there in spirit. More info about Kara can be found at the blog link kayawelland.wordpress.com.
In Kara's voice through haiku: Thank you family and friends I'm so lucky for you all Someone is watching
