Hello everyone. I have just started to begin preparations for our big 25th Reunion (April 30–May 2, 2010). There is still room for many more to join the planning, and it's early enough that we can really tailor the plans to make this very special, so please get in touch with the Reunion planning group at Kellogg. Contact Katie Taylor at katie-taylor@kellogg.northwestern.edu. Already there is quite a buzz happening about Reunion on Facebook. Please plan on attending. It would be great to see everyone.
Just a few updates:
Jayant Kanitkar retired from Bank of America in 2006 as senior vice president after 21 years of service, all in the San Francisco Bay area.Since then, he has made two goals for his body and for his mind. He walks and swims every day and has lost 35 pounds since retirement. To test his fitness (and knees), he trekked to the Mount Everest base camp in Nepal.
On the mind side, Jayant joined H&R Block in 2006 and is master tax adviser and enrolled agent (with the IRS). He enjoys doing taxes for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates during the tax season.Other times, he has been visiting India — teaching and training, and of course, visiting family, friends and relatives.Last fall, he taught quality management (Six Sigma/Lean) at IIT Bombay Business School. This spring, he trained credit managers at one of India's large banks on credit and risk assessment.Just back from that trip, he might return to train more credit managers later this year.
Jim Kroner describes what he does now as "retirement 20 years early." He left the business world almost four years ago, thanks to some good timing and great partners. Jim serves on two corporate boards and does occasional M&A consulting. Jim spends about 50 percent of his time traveling, especially to very remote places. He lives in Las Vegas, but will probably go back to New York sooner rather than later.
See you at Reunion! |
