Peter Booth TMP 2003 with a group of very hard-working Vietnamese coffee pickers

TMP 2003

As the summer came to an end, your fellow alums were busy. Below are updates from those who wrote in.

Hakan Hazneci got married in October last year in Turkey. A bunch of people from the U.S. came to the wedding. Steve Simsic TMP 2002 did enjoy the Turkish bath and the belly dancers. Hakan is now living in Shanghai, China.

David Chan and his wife, Sue, had a baby in April. From a work perspective, he is responsible for starting a "China Desk" here in Chicago for the U.S. firm at KPMG. The goal is to assist U.S. clients to invest in companies in China. Because of that role, he has been traveling to China quite a bit.

Peter Booth just returned from a two-year stint in Singapore where he was managing Kraft's Vietnam and Indonesian coffee-buying offices. He's still with Kraft (Maxwell House) and now manager green coffee buying North America working out of Tarrytown, N.Y.

Anne Prasse and her husband, Dale, just moved to San Diego.

John Bye was promoted to associate practice executive at his company, Campbell Alliance. And he and his wife, Chris, raced the Lake Placid Ironman in July.

Alex Kent and Jamie Scaletta were married March 13, in Kapalua Bay, Maui. Alex and Jamie will be moving to Mountain View, Calif. in October. Alex will join Cornish & Carey Commercial as a vice president — providing commercial real estate corporate client transaction management and institutional investment solutions.

Lisa (Kurasz) Ha and her husband Tony have relocated from Chicago to Atlanta. Lisa is working as an IT governance manager at SunTrust Bank, and Tony is a project manager for Miller Zell.

After spending the summer house-hunting, Rick Pollock and his wife, Kelly, and son, Evan, bought a house in Oak Park, Ill. Rick also started a new job as the program director of the program management office of a Chicago-based start-up firm.

Holly Jones and her husband Bill welcomed their second child, August Edwin, on Aug. 11. August is named after grandpas and great-grandpas, not the month in which he was born. That was completely coincidental. Their daughter, Emily, is an excellent big sister to her new little brother! All are adjusting well to being a family of four.

Thanks for the updates. As you go through these or other life experiences, keep your classmates up to date by forwarding me your news — babies, weddings, jobs, hobbies or anything else noteworthy. You can reach me at rpollock2003@kellogg.northwestern.edu for updates in the months to come.
