Gabriele
(Meissner) Doyle writes: "My husband, A. R. Doyle,
M.D., CASAM, and I have opened River Bend Christian Counseling,
a fully state-licensed alcohol and drug treatment facility
located in Moline, Ill. RBCC also provides a full range of
mental health and counseling services. We seek to combine
Christian principles with 12-step recovery principles and
the latest in evidence-based medical treatment. RBCC is the
fulfillment of a dream Randy and I have shared since we met
15 years ago. We are co-owners; he is the medical director
and I am the business manager. After 11 years of being a stay-at-home
mom doing peripheral work to support my husband's career,
it's turning out to be quite interesting learning to balance
family, work and church. Our three children are Annemarie
(11), Hardy (8) and Nathanael (3). We're hoping to set a good
example for them of caring, community involvement, and how
one person can make a difference. Hope all is well with my
fellow classmates — hello Camille Roberts, Brent Rosenbower and Bret
Ruiz!"
After
deciding to make a major switch on her career path, Nancy
Reiser has accepted a position with Edward Jones
Investments as an investment representative. Focusing on serving
individual investors in the northwest suburban Chicago area,
Nancy is very excited about this new opportunity.
David
Hirsch, a senior vice president at Smith Barney,
Inc., was recently honored by the Illinois CPA Society for
his lifetime contributions to public service and for presenting
a positive image of certified public accountants (CPAs). He
was presented with the society's Public Service Award at its
State of the Profession Leadership Luncheon held on May 9,
at the Standard Club in Chicago. David has dedicated much
of his efforts and time to public service organizations. He
is the founder of Illinois Fatherhood Initiative, the country's
first state-wide, nonprofit fatherhood organization. The organization's
mission is connecting children and fathers by promoting responsible
fathering and helping to equip men to become better fathers
and father figures. In addition, he is actively involved in
raising awareness and funds for the Chicago Police Memorial
Foundation to recognize Chicago police officers that have
lost their lives in the line of duty. He raised nearly $20,000
mostly through pledges by having friends sponsor him in the
2005 Accenture Chicago Triathlon on Aug. 28 in the name of
Officer Phillip O'Reilly, who lost his life in March 2003.
Officer O'Reilly, who David did not know, was the father of
six children (David and his wife have five children) and would
be 44 this year, which is coincidentally David's age.
