EMP-46
It
has been a very busy summer, and we hope that everyone found
time away from their careers to relax and enjoy time with
their families. It is even more important that we appreciate
the opportunities that we have all been given as we examine
our lives in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. As members of
the EMP-46 family, we send our condolences to those whose
lives, families and livelihoods have been affected by this
disaster. Susan Nedza, who has been involved
in the government relief efforts, sends her personal thanks
to all who have responded so generously with their time, talents
and charitable contributions to aid in the recovery. We are
asking that members of our class continue to be generous if
given the opportunity to help these individuals in the months
to come.

In
this update, we wanted to share with you what some of our
EMP-46 alumni classmates were up to over the summer.
Denis
Bailey and family were off visiting the Mediterranean.
They spent time in Athens, Rhodes, Corfu, Santorini, Dubrovnic,
Croatia and Venice.
Alan
Burack, who vows to have the same date at more than
one EMP-46 alumni event, was joined by his girlfriend, Holly
Margolin, at the spring five-year reunion. Unfortunately,
they stepped away during the reunion "photo op" included in
the spring edition of Kellogg
World, so there's no proof! Says Alan, "Please stay
tunedwe'll keep you informed."
Mark
Conway, and his longtime girlfriend, Kelli Boyer-Conway,
were married on Sept. 4. They will reside in Algonquin, Ill.
Mark says it was a wonderful ceremony and a fantastic reception
— all had a great time!
Mark
adds, "We will be honeymooning in December. Somewhere warm
and far away from phones!"
Jose
Martinez vacationed with his family in Maui.
Harriet
Seymore has not only been busy growing her consulting
business, but also growing her family by giving birth, on
May 17, to Ashton Ronald — weighing in at 7 pounds,
9 ounces, and 21 inches long. Ron and Harriet have nicknamed
their three "Kool & The Gang." Maya is "Kool" at 5 years
old; Kendal and Ashton are "the Gang" at 3 years and 4 months,
respectively. The Seymore motto with three is: "You never
leave home without one."
Peter
Zaleski says the highlight of his summer vacation
was his son's wedding in early July.
Darlene
Ziebell has taken flight. It's something she's wanted
to do for a very, very long time. She's rated in single engine
land and started working on her instrument rating. Her plans
are to purchase a plane by next year. "It is great fun to
fly over Chicago traffic rather than drive in it," says
Darlene.
We
look forward to seeing everyone over the holidays.

and Alan
