John W. Bluford III, CEO and president of Truman Medical Centers, sends good news from Kansas City, Mo., where he was elected by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as one of eight new members to its Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is the policy-making body of the AHA and has ultimate authority for the control and management of its direction and finances. John's term will begin on Jan. 1, 2006, and end Dec. 31, 2008. He says, "My leadership role(s) with the National Association of Public Hospitals and the Missouri Hospital Association, along with participating on the AHA Board will bring forth a constituency advocacy that hopefully will add value to the dialog."
