— Frankfurt
In August, the
Kellogg Alumni Club of Frankfurt held its Kellogg Summer Convention
2004, featuring experts in the pharmaceutical industry. IMS
Health, a leader in data warehousing for the industry, hosted
the meeting.
IMS executives
presented their findings regarding the rapidly developing
OTC market in Europe. In one presentation, two graduates of
the Kellogg/WHU program introduced a proprietary model based
on real options to value complex pharmaceutical projects such
as R&D pipelines. Dr. Christian Dreger '03 successfully
used this model in an acquisition executed by Essex Pharma
in Switzerland. More than 35 alumni, plus guests, attended
this event, which received thunderous applause when it finished
at 10 p.m. Afterward, IMS hosted a gathering that lasted until
after midnight. Thanks to Roman Martens '90, who organized
this prominent event.
