2004
With graduation
behind us, the Class of 2004 has re-entered the working world
with its usual panache, exemplified by a summer full of adventures,
reunions and weddings:
Alison
Curd spent a month this summer traveling through Eastern
Europe, with St. Petersburg and Budapest ranking highest on
her list of favorites. In August she hit the East Coast, where
Jim Steckart, Whit Lanier, Kristen Mitchell, Kirsten Hornby,
Putney Cloos, Dana Zuber, Andy Sofield and Brian Fox
also attended Amanda Hoche's wedding in Bar Harbor,
Maine.
Michelle
Villagomez tied the knot with Brett Sanchez on July 17.

Anyone
feeling nostalgic for The Keg is invited to crash at Brian
Myer's pad, just a block away. Just be sure to congratulate
him on his recent nuptials as well. He and Heather Gartner
were married July 10 in Auburn, Calif., in the Sierra foothills,
followed by a 10-day honeymoon in Costa Rica. Alan Yengoyan,
Ryan Heslop and Dan Rosskamm attended. Same day,
different place: Patrick O'Hern was married in Connecticut,
with Joanna and Dave Ganiear and Brandy and Michael
Fiddelke in attendance.
Brian
Fox and Putney Cloos were married June 26 in Woods
Hole, Mass. In attendance from Kellogg were Kate Farrell,
Cindy Goodrich, Karen Welt, Matt Murray, Scott Blumsack, Cos
Gallo, Justin Burks, Edwin Van Dusen and Brian's dad,
Douglas Fox '71. The couple is now residing in NYC.
Katja
Roever and Dean Lindo '03 redefined intraclass spirit
with an "event across the Atlantic" this summer. Apparently,
while '04 was well represented at the wedding by Oliver
Bauer, Alex De Croo, Ben Hall, Karel Schaepman, Mike Sheehan
and Jay Victor, the '03's beat us by about 100 percent.
And we thought the whole GIM/KOA thing ended after Kellogg.
More news
on Anna Octaviano's wedding in the next issue. Apparently,
her honeymoon delayed her traditional Shutterfly distribution.
Can you blame her?
Ignacio
Felix writes that, with the exception of closely avoiding
direct hits by two hurricanes this summer, his new life in
Miami has been relatively tranquila. Uh-huh. In other weather-related
news, Laurent Luccioni reports: "As we moved to North
Carolina we got caught in hurricane Alex on an island. I guess
it was some kind of welcome." No, but I have some good news:
You saved a bunch of money on your car insurance by switching
to Geico. (See picture of Laurent and car.)
From Philly,
Mark Treiber writes: "Although extremely jealous of
all of the world travelers in our class, I did actually accomplish
something at work this summer. I was busy completing the first
AND 1 DVD, of which I will be the executive producer. It hits
store shelves in November. Other than that, I've been settling
into my new digs in Philadelphia. Please come visit (except
in November, because I will be on the international AND 1
tour)." Who's jealous now?
Over Labor
Day, Joe '03 and Katie Terino held their second
annual East Coast Kellogg Weekend for 2003 and 2004 classmates
in Newport, R.I. Attending were '03ers Ian Powell, Jim McIntyre,
E.G. Fishburne, Andrew Ingley, Ryan O'Toole, Jesse Marmon,
Beth Kretecos, Melissa Mangini, Mark Pyle, Brian Helm, Rob
Zamacona, Yelena Lungin, Elaine Schulze and Brian Fitzpatrick,
and '04ers Chad Stevens, Aaron Rose, Dave McDowell
and Jonathan Glick. The group spent the weekend catching
up, soaking up the sun, digging for quahogs, kayaking, playing
bocce and taking in Newport.
James
Wiggins is going green in Guyana, sourcing sustainable
building materials for his new enterprise, Home Greenbuild
(www.homegreenbuild.com). If anyone is in the area or in the
Caribbean, drop him a line.

Jeff
Chesnut ’04 encounters section-mate Bojan Dragasevic,
also ’04, unexpectedly in Rome |
Jeff
Chesnut writes: "Hello from (I believe) the only Kellogg
2004 grad who landed in St. Louis. My wife and I stayed busy
this summer relocating, buying a house, moving in, touring
Europe for a month and then finally (for me) starting work
at Anheuser-Busch in August. The most random moment of the
summer occurred during my three days in Rome, where I literally
ran into my section-mate Bojan Dragasevic. He had left
Kellogg after year one because his wife wasn't able to secure
a visa to come to the States. He took off the second year
to be with her in Montenegro and is now returning to school
this fall to finish up. He'd actually run into Chad Harding
in Spain earlier in the summer, so he seems to be a magnet
for Kellogg grads."
Patrick
Youssi spent time in the Cote d'Azure this summer with
girlfriend Tricia Weber. The couple is now living in Denver.
Theresa
Sullivan and husband Peter welcomed their son, Sean Thomas,
on June 18. He weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces. Theresa says, "His
timing was perfect. He held off just long enough for me to
officially graduate!" A considerate young man in the making.
Starting this fall, Theresa is back for more: She'll be at
Kellogg for another four years to pursue a PhD in marketing.
Nori
Kubo and his wife, Ayumi, visited Athens in July, just
prior to Olympic craze. They're now in Osaka and have already
been hosting classmates. Rahul Mewawalla and his wife,
Anuneha (co-chair, Kellogg Joint Ventures), spent a
wonderful summer traveling in Europe and South Asia before
meeting up with Nori and Toshihiro Fukumura, who shared
stories about their first few weeks at GE in Tokyo and Sanyo
in Osaka.
From Chi-town,
Will Nolen sends in: "I'm living in a loft in Greek
Town with Gabe Kronstadt. Summer activities included
Spain, Guatemala, lots of volleyball and the Chicago Triathlon.
Look forward to catching up with Kellogg folks as they return
from their travels." |
