Charles O. Galvin '41 was one of five lawyers recently honored by the Texas Bar Foundation for more than 50 years of service. The award is made to those who adhere to the highest principles and traditions of the legal profession and provide public service. Charles is the former dean and now a distinguished emeritus professor of law at the SMU Dedman School of Law. He also is Centennial Professor of Law Emeritus at Vanderbilt School of Law. He is today of counsel to Haynes and Boone LLP of Dallas.

The Academy of Management has honored William B. Wolf '45 with its 2004 Distinguished Service Award, one of the highest honors it bestows. As a fellow of the Academy of Management, William's contributions to the organization include authoring the key article in the first issue of the Journal of the Academy of Management and organizing seminars for members to learn international management. When William served as national president of the academy, a professional association for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations,he initiated a complete review of its structure. An emeritus professor at Cornell University, William now lives on Whidbey Island off the coast of Washington.

John M. Wadsworth '48, who is now 94, writes that he and wife Estelle live in a retirement community in Lantana, Fla. During his career, John taught business subjects at Proviso Township High School and was varsity tennis coach there too. He also taught at Elmhurst College and Northern Illinois University.

Julian Newman '48 of Chicago continues as a sales executive for a LaSalle Street insurance firm. Now a widower, his family consists of three children and six grandchildren. With his former wife, Barbara, he enjoyed travels to Mexico and Southeast Asia. Today his chief recreation is his golf game.

William Guy '48 of Pasadena, Calif., has long been retired from sales for the Southwest Portland Cement Co. Now a widower after a 50-year marriage, he formerly enjoyed travels to Australia and Tasmania. Today he golfs and walks around the Cal Tech campus each day.

Emily Willens Gotkin '48 of Tucson, Ariz., was a legal assistant for a property management firm. Recently widowed after a 53-year marriage, she continues travels in the States and Canada, and also enjoys visiting with her three children and three grandchildren.

William Goss '48 of Windcrest, near San Antonio, was in procurement management for the U.S. Air Force, which included tours in Germany and the Middle East. His family consists of two children and four grandchildren. He bowls, keeps up with Middle East current events and enjoys his church. He concludes his letter by writing: "I have traveled this great nation from coast to coast and from Florida to Seattle. I thank God for the privilege of being born in our wonderful country."
