Alaska
Here is
the report from the Last Frontier. My wife, daughter and I
spent most of July in the Midwest (and missed the wettest
July on record in Anchorage). This was the first chance for
the grandparents to meet and hold granddaughter Nicole themselves.
One of the highlights of the Chicago leg of our travels was
to get matching father/ daughter football jerseys. On Aug.
2, we had Nicoles final adoption hearing, and we officially
ended our six months as foster parents.
The club
had a final summer outing over Labor Day weekend on the Portage
Glacier cruise, then overnighted at the Kenai Princess Wilderness
Lodge in Cooper Landing. Our guest speaker was Mr. Barry Johnson,
MLS, a librarian with the National Gallery of Art in Washington,
D.C. He discussed some of his current projects. The clubs
fall kickoff event coincided with the NU/UNLV game, which
was telecast here.
