Atlanta
The Atlanta
Alumni Club has new officers. I would like to thank the following
individuals for their renewed commitment to the Kellogg community
in Atlanta: vice president of social events, Kyle Antcliff;
vice president of membership, Chris Tomseth; and vice president
of careers, Rick Berg.
The vice
president of careers is a new position in response to increasing
requests from alumni on advice about jobs in Atlanta, networking
events, etc. The vice president of educational events position
remains open. Our club officer in this position, Kevin Whelan,
has recently moved out of Atlanta. If you are interested in
helping out with the club in any manner including holding
an officers position, please contact Sarita at ssoldz@mindspring.com.
The Atlanta
club is putting together an Advisory Board for the club. The
idea is to provide a way for our more senior and recent alums
to interact and provide input to the club. The main obligation
for Advisory Board members is to meet on a quarterly basis.
If you are interested, please contact Chris Tomseth at ctomseth1998@alum.kellogg.nwu.edu.
In June,
the Atlanta Alumni Club participated in a welcoming event
for all new graduates living in Atlanta and had a successful
Braves baseball game outing. The club continues to enjoy monthly
social events on the second Wednesday of every month at The
Park Tavern near Piedmont Park.
We geared
up for new events this fall, including a golf tournament,
a career transition event, an MBA Update Event, and possibly
a visit by our new dean, Dipak Jain.
Additionally,
if you are interested in being a part of the Community Consulting
Teams in Atlanta (providing volunteer consulting to nonprofit
organizations), please contact Sarita. An organizational event
occurred Nov. 15.
