Khem Balkaran moved from Avon to Readers Digest a little over a year ago and assumed the position of assistant corporate controller. He recently completed building a business service center in Amsterdam and is currently putting the finishing touches on one in the United States before turning his attention to Asia.

In the family department, Jonathan and Sophie Bross welcomed their first child and son, Parker Byron Bross, who was born on July 8, weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

John Patterson and his wife welcomed their third girl, Celia Ann, into the world on July 23. She was 21 inches long and weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces. Her big sisters Emelia and Adeline are doing great! Joann Forgit Talano and Jim Talano had their second child, Ryan James Wellington Talano. He was born Aug. 10. He weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long. They are all doing well and Kate, his older sister, seems to be accepting the new addition. She just complains when he cries.

Finally, Mark Stephenson is now vice president, sales operations for the GiantLoop Network, Inc. He may be reached at 781.902.5009. Mark and family are doing well, Jack and Charlie growing like weeds. They are living in Boston, Mark is working hard at a well funded 250 person start-up that focuses on building and managing fiber optic networks for large businesses. Their specialty is data center networking. Customers include The Options Clearing Corporation, Globix and Wells Fargo.
