EMP-23
I feel
honored to prepare the newsletter updates for our class now
that Mike Fitzgerald has handed over the torch. Mike,
we all owe you shouts of hip hip hooray for the
10 years of dedication, 40 quarters of updates, and who-knows-how-many
phone calls. Thanks Mike!
Happy
10th anniversary to all EMP-23ers. Has it really been that
long since we ate those cookies at break, attended weekly
study group meetings, and carried those case books? What an
experience EMP was for us. Undoubtedly, we have all learned
much about business and life in the years since graduation.
Please share any news and Ill spread the word in this
newsletter.
I should
make note of the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago (KACC). Actions
are underway to step up the activities available to alumni
in the Chicago area. The mission of the club is to facilitate
lifelong learning, contacts, and camaraderie
and
to apply the Kellogg management training to enhance members
development. So, please stay alert for any information coming
from the KACC.
The class
golf outing was held in August and the Reunion Cruise in October.
Only a lucky handful were able to make these events. Again,
thanks should go out to Mike F. and others for their efforts
in organizing these opportunities for fun and friendship.
Wed all like to hear about some of the other small gatherings
of EMP-23 alumni, so please send in the stories.
Peter
DeJong has been found, and he says he was never really
lost. Pete continues to be a self-employed consultant in the
dredging and shipbuilding business. He has children in college
in the Netherlands.
Mark
Cooper reports that hes leading a team of a few
dozen employees toward significant systems conversions at
the University of Illinois, including the Chicago campus.
Hes certainly spreading his knowledge around the Big
Ten. Mark, can you point out to someone that there are 11
schools in the conference?
I welcome
any ideas for our on-going communication. Again, congratulations
graduates!
