Dr.
Miller Upton 48
of Fontana, Wis., was the president of Beloit College in Wisconsin
for years and is now a consultant. He and his wife, June,
have five children and seven grandchildren, whom they enjoy
visiting in their Kentucky and Virginia homes.
Roger
Olson 48
of Rockford, Ill., retired six years ago from his own company,
Andco Distributors Corp. of Rockford. He and his wife, Marion,
have two children and three grandchildren. He now enjoys biking,
golf and visiting with his family.
Robert
Schmidt 48 of Arlington Heights, Ill., is retired
from the purchasing function of Amoco in Chicago. Now a widower,
he still travels (he and his wife had traveled extensively
in Europe, China and Australia). His new favorite destination
is Branson, Mo.
Emil
Uhlarik 48
of Elk Grove Village, Ill., has retired from Unocal in Schaumburg,
Ill., where he was a product manager. He and his wife, Marybeth,
enjoy their large family of eight children and 20 grandchildren,
all living in neighboring states. They also look forward to
attending Chicagos Lyric Opera. Emil serves on the Advisory
Board of Harper College in Palatine, Ill.
Edwin
Bennett 48 of Wilmette, Ill., is retired from Old
Republic International in Chicago, where he was a vice president
for asset management. He and his wife, Barbara Ellis (Music
54) have five children and three grandchildren. Emil
plays cello in the Evanston Symphony, while his wife is a
church organist. Their extensive travels included a world
cruise in 2000, and they have also enjoyed Kenya and Europe.
