In memoriam for Shai Sarid KR-05: "Shai Sarid was my classmate in the Kellogg-Recanati program for two years. We both came from family businesses in the metal industry and Shai became a good friend, a friend I will miss dearly.

"Shai was a soft-spoken man, with warm eyes and a loving heart. He was born with a heart problem, but instead of restricting him, it became an enormous force that pushed him farther. In addition to volunteering for the Israeli Defense Force, he also graduated several times, completing degrees in chemical engineering and in physics, earning a master's degree in literature and of course, the Kellogg-Recanati EMBA. Everything interested him and people interested him the most.

"Shai loved cooking for his family and friends and he loved extreme sports. He loved skiing, horseback riding, biking and dangerous tracks in remote places on earth. He found his much-needed inner peace in these situations.

"These wonderful contradictions and combinations made him a very accomplished businessman. He worked for the family business AMZA and branched out to found Elad, a subsidiary that constructed metal finishing process worldwide. He was the 'boss' we all would love to have: knowledgeable, innovative, considerate and invigorating, always pushing forward and as he did all his life, against the odds.

His most cherished were the loves of his life — his wife and his two children. He would let them fill the bathtub to its fullest, physically and metaphorically. He once told me, 'Moments of experiences are what makes life worthwhile.' And he did.

Shai's life was full of hardships, battles, love, joy, caring and victories. He passed away at 42. Shai, we all miss you." — Mor Shamgar KR-05
