EMP-66

Susanne Dawursk and husband Mark announce a new arrival to the EMP-66 family, Ms. Madeline Eileen Dawursk. Born at 7:02 a.m. on Jan. 23, Maddie weighed in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces. She is 20 inches long and is quite the little princess. Mark and Susanne could not be happier and they are currently waiting for the Slayer onesies to arrive in the mail. Congrats to the first-time parents!

Coming off an outstanding year on the sales front, Silver McDonald has been asked to manage Schoolnet's marketing efforts as well as sales, and has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing (schoolnet.com). Education reform is a national focus right now, and Silver is looking forward to leading Schoolnet's efforts to help public school districts and states achieve their goals around Race to the Top and to increase academic achievement. She is also collaborating with Liz Walsh, daughter of the legendary 49ers football coach, Bill Walsh, to make a documentary about Bill's impact on the world of football. The working title is The Brighter the Light. Interviews have been filmed with numerous players from the winning team, including Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott, NFL leadership, the NFL Network and close friends. The early footage is really outstanding and efforts are focused around securing a corporate sponsor. Makes us wonder if there is anything this girl can't do!

Louis Huston's overseas assignment with Shell was extended for another year, which means he will stay in the Netherlands until 2012. Clearly, his work is valued. Louis rides his bike to work, like many of the locals, even if it's snowing! Living abroad has also allowed him the opportunity to visit numerous countries with some of his favorites being Budapest ("an incredible city split by a river"); Prague ("an incredible location, beautiful and impressive theaters"); Belgium ("a place for true chocolate and no calorie-counting here"); Cologne, Germany ("in December, the Christmas mart is amazing"); and numerous day trips ("sometimes via bicycle") throughout the Netherlands. Are we jealous yet?

Congratulations newlyweds! Allison Knapp and Chris Bystriansky wed in an outdoor ceremony on the big island of Hawaii on Dec. 28 at 7 a.m. They had a blast! Allison and Chris arrived in Hawaii on Christmas Day, got their marriage license on Monday, were married on Tuesday and then sat back and enjoyed the rest of their vacation. They spent a week on the Big Island and a week on Maui where they were fortunate enough to play golf three times. They had a very relaxing time and found it difficult to come home.

Drumroll, please! Kaye Cingle got engaged over the summer while spending time in Zagreb, Croatia. She resides in Miami and accepted a general manager position with The Container Store. She asks that you contact her if you plan to be in the Miami area, as she loves getting together with Kellogg friends.

Rohit Shyam launched Spa Dhara, a luxuriously appointed five-star spa and wellness center in Fremont, Calif. The eco-conscious organic and natural-wellness center features Hammam, Rhassoul and Ayurveda suites that are architecturally designed to reflect the experience from the region where the treatment originated. The spa is equipped for a multi-sensory experience and features a music system where spa guests can choose between rhythmic sounds from various regions or music from their own iPod while they get pampered. Plans are in the works to open two more locations in the Bay Area and eventually franchise the business.

Drew Marson is busy planning the 2011 EMP-66 reunion with the Reunion team. Location and dates are TBD, but we hope to see you there!
