Spring 2011 brings new opportunities for many of us. Scott Baxter was promoted to vice president of the V.F. Corp. and group president of Jeanswear Americas & Imagewear. His continued success is remarkable. Let's hope that we see Scott in Chicago some time soon.

One of our own seasoned and most successful entrepreneurs was honored in November for her contributions to the business community at large. Darlene Ziebel was one of 21 award recipients honored as part of "Influential Women in Business 2010." Our hats are off to you, Darlene!

On continuing the legacy, Larry Billelo's son Larry will be starting undergraduate studies at Northwestern University in the fall. After receiving invitations to some of the top universities in the U.S., Larry has decided to follow in his dad's footsteps and enroll at Northwestern University. Congratulations and best of luck on your studies.

After six years at the same company, truly a record for Jose Martinez, he has embarked on a new challenge and joined Daugherty Business Solutions as managing director. In this new role, he will be responsible for growing the consultancy's presence and footprint in Chicago and surrounding areas.

On the "bucket list" front, another one of our own caught the "marathon bug." Jose also ran and finished the Chicago Marathon held on Oct. 10. He enjoyed the experience so much that he is considering running again. That's all for now!
