EMP-38

We have a hero and lifesaver in our midst. For those of you who missed it, Larry Kosinski was highlighted in the Chicago Tribune on Oct. 25 under the headline "CPR saves dog's life." Dr. Larry Kosinski's eight-year-old Chihuahua, Valentino, was dead after being bitten by another dog. Larry, certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, went to work on Valentino and soon the dog was breathing again. Google Larry to read the whole story.

Steve Calk reports that after two years, Chicago Bancorp has received formal approval from the Office of Thrift Supervision to acquire Generations Bank. Steve adds: "It is a 100-plus year-old Federal Savings Bank located in Overland Park, Kansas. The bank will allow us to continue our national expansion with a focus on growing our residential real estate finance, small business, commercial and credit card lending divisions." Steve also mentioned he had just returned from a trip to Israel and was able to revisit all the locations he first saw with EMP-38 classmates.

Cindy Vanina, our class chef, prepared a holiday dinner, bringing Susan Amato, Trish Lambrecht and Betsy Finkelmeier together for a lovely evening. I (Trish) offered to bring some hot dogs and Velveeta but, surprisingly, Cindy turned me down.

Finally, I continue to raise funds for multiple sclerosis in honor of our classmate Mike Shelton. I will be walking on May 1 and riding the MS 150 the weekend of June 25. Last year's ride was quite an adventure. Your support would be appreciated by either event participation or sponsorship. You can register or donate. Search for "Trish Lambrecht" at.nationalmssociety.org/chapters/ILD/index.aspx

I hear that many of our classmates are "on the move" and would enjoy hearing from any of you for formal updates.
