EMP-26
Hi everyone, I am pleased to announce we have EMP Groups on both Facebook and LinkedIn. If you haven't heard from me, please join so we know where to find you. I currently have the updated contact information for about 35 EMP-26 members and can share it with you.
Mary Hayes reports: "I'm a principal with Kelley Management Consulting, Inc., headquartered in Evanston. We're a general management consulting firm and I've been part of the firm for about 2 years. My partner Mari and I have been living in Northeast Wisconsin for the last five years with our two standard poodles, Smokey and Bea. We spent three weeks in China last July with our goddaughter Joli, her sister and their mother as part of a heritage tour of China for Chinese adoptees. Both Joli and her sister are adoptees. It was a magical trip through parts of China we'd never seen, with 19 other families and their adopted girls. Each girl not only got to see their birth country but spent a day visiting their orphanage and reconnecting with foster families and caretakers. You can imagine all the emotions. A thousand photos later, we returned. The holidays were great, the Packers won the Super Bowl and I love my work. What more can you ask for to start the year? Hugs to all of you. When are we going to have a class reunion on campus?
"I've spoken in the last nine months with Judy Hooyman, Gina Hinrichs and Steve Flieder. Gina and I are talking about trying to get an EMP-26 Chatauqua set up this fall at Kellogg. Past events, while small, have been really enriching and the university has been more than accommodating in providing a place to meet, food, snacks etc. Judy is directing training and development work at Schreiber Foods, a global dairy and cheese manufacturer, and loves her work. Gina has been writing and consulting for the last 5 years now. Get her latest publication, The Thin Book of SOAR at thinbook.com. With her co-author, they provide an enlightening methodology for strategy development based on strengths, opportunities, aspirations and results. I've read it three times and incorporated much of it into my consulting work.
"Steve is in the Boston area as a COO in the medical services industry and enjoying life as only Steve can. Well, that's all the news I've got for now. Hey folks, it only takes 5 minutes to send an update like this. Let's hear from more of you!"
Warren Frank reports that he has excellent health, a great daughter still close with him (even though she's an eighth grader) and a good job with an excellent boss. He is still in the home built 16 years ago, right after graduating Kellogg.
Warren, Jack Blackburn and Bob Lehman reports that three of the five EMP-25 Lincoln Park + 1 group got together for drinks and dinner and took out the EMP-26 sweatshirt to recall the names and the fabulous experience they had. Peace and cheers to all of you. Hoping life is healthy, wealthy and wise.
Bud Chumbley updates: "I am CMO of the Round Rock region of Scott & White Healthcare. S&W's service area is about the size of Rhode Island! My region has a 100-bed hospital , 10 clinics and 120 physicians. Round Rock is just north of Austin and has been one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. for many years.
"Lynn and I recently bought a little 11-acre ranch. We own horses, three Golden Retrievers and a tractor. I even bought a hand gun to shoot snakes! I like Texas and like Scott & White."
Brian Dietmeyer reports: "Think! Inc. continues. Max Bazerman and I are still partners. Max has just taken a leave from Harvard to be a visiting professor at Berkley. Life with two teenagers in Chicago continues and hormones play a major role in my house. My wife and I have been doing some volunteer work at the American Indian Center here in Chicago that has been quite rewarding."
