From Nicole Neuefeind: "I am still living in Barcelona, Spain, as a professional photographer and artist. Last year I split up with my former business partner to start my own studio and dedicate more time to my art projects. I specialize in commercial product and architecture photography as well as creating unique images for decorating interiors. If you want to see some of my work, check out my online portfolio at nicneu.com. If any of you visit BCN, give me a shout!"
Dina Colman writes: "After many years of knowing that my career as a marketing and business strategy consultant in the high-tech world was not my destiny, I switched gears and went back to school. This June, I'll be graduating with a master's in holistic health education. I am now a happy and fulfilled writer on health and wellness. I am putting together a book proposal and am already seeing some success in getting my writing published in magazines. My company, Four Quadrant Living, was inspired by Ken Wilber's integral theory and is based on the idea that all four quadrants (mind, body, relationships, and environment) are important for our health. For more information, check out fourquadrantliving.com. I have a weekly blog and monthly newsletter. I look forward to hearing from my classmates. I hope you are all living a happy and healthy life. You can contact me at dina@fourquadrantliving.com."
Marty Salva and wife Kate are in Madison, Wis., with their children Agnes and Lawrence (Ursie). Marty left his position as chief procurement officer for an insurance company in Madison. From Travis Hurst: "I'm happy to announce that I'm launching something that I've been working towards for the last nine months — a life and business coaching practice called Aria Life and Business Coaching. Well, really, I've been working toward this for the last twenty years but just didn't know it. I've always had fun and loved the challenges of my work as a management consultant, small business executive and entrepreneur. Now I'm channeling that experience and pairing it with my desire to help people on an individual basis — to help them make significant and lasting changes in their lives, to act as a source of motivation and support and to help them achieve their goals. Part of what makes this special is that my wife Rachel is in this journey with me, as my business partner and fellow coach. Everyone can find us at ariacoaching.com.
"Aside from that, we've been happy to welcome Kathy (Schreiner) and Peter Brumme to Austin along with their two rambunctious sons. We hosted Dave Gordon for a weekend last year and caught up with Kurt Scherer '92 and his wife Valerie this winter. We maintain an open door policy in Austin!"
From Suzy Taherian: "The new job is going well. It's a big change going from big Chevron to a small renewable energy startup, but I really enjoy helping to create a company. There are lots of stories of small victories but better to wait until some more success to start bragging!"
Dena Dodd Perry launched the patent-pending Pop.N.Go Rain Scarf (buypopngo.com) for a national infomercial test in January. Additionally, she marketed the product in March at America's Beauty Show in Chicago. Dena adds: "Family is doing well. After a long season of paddle tennis in Lake Forest, we went Hawaii for spring break and will head to South Africa in October. Hope you and yours are well."
Update from Charlotte Cudlip Bartol: "Just before Christmas, Jane Hunter came back from London. She and her husband Mark Walsh hosted a few of our classmates in New Canaan, Conn., to celebrate the holidays. Frank Hardart was there with his fiancée, John and Laura Mattson, Avery Schmeisser and myself. It was great to catch up after many of us not having seen each other in a while.
"In January, my family and I traveled north to Vermont to go skiing at Mad River Glen. We met up with Linda Plate Guy, her husband Tim and two kids. We had a great weekend of skiing and hanging out. We hope to get together again in February for some more skiing."
Nick Palmer updates: "We felt enough was enough and returned to Melbourne from our overseas tour of duty in 2010 (which went from one year to five-and-a-half years, with stints in San Francisco and Hong Kong) and are now happily settled back into our 'old' life. I decided that it was a catalyst to do something different for a while and resigned from the Bain partnership. I accepted an opportunity to head the Foundation for the National Gallery in Melbourne. It is their 150th anniversary year, with plenty planned. This is a worthwhile and interesting challenge with an opportunity to take a break from the world of consulting. We would love to hear from anyone passing through Melbourne. Contact me at nickhvpalmer@gmail.com."
From Deb Cross: I am now "Delavan Deb" — the Edward Jones financial advisor for Delavan, Wis., and I love it. Jones is worth a close look for job changers that want very gratifying work in a world class company that is a partnership. Call me with any Qs. Zoe (8) and Ava (6) love Percy Jackson. Brian is back to work at Universal Forest Products in Janesville after a couple years as a SAHD (He was a very HAPPY stay-at-home-dad.). We are looking forward to hosting a Rotary exchange student from France this spring and everyone is thankfully healthy. I plan to be in Boston on April 18 for some exercise. Feeling blessed in snowy (a forecast of 20 inches as I write this) but cozy Wisconsin. Best regards to our MMM and MM friends. Thanks to Mark for keeping us in touch!"
