Weather is not the only conversation our class is having these days,

Steve Potter is president of global investments at Northern Trust, with $650 billion in assets under management. He is one of a precious few who continues his career where he began after Kellogg. Steve and his family spent eight wonderful years in London. Now that their two children are off to college, Steve and Ann are spending time reconnecting with Kellogg through various programs and people, and now enjoy an even greater appreciation for Kellogg. They live in Kenilworth, Ill.

Congratulations to Tom Williamson, who was promoted to chief talent officer for Deloitte Consulting's strategy and operations practice. He is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, performance management and career development for 2,500 practitioners. Tom is also gearing up in a similar role for his eldest son, a high school junior with college decisions on the horizon.

David Ing reports that he was elected president of the International Society of Systems Sciences (the 50th after luminaries like anthropologist Margaret Mead). Through his connections to the Tokyo Institute of Technology, David visits Tokyo regularly, and hopes to connect with now-chef Etsuko Nakajima on his spring visit. In February, he taught a systems thinking class at Aalto University in Finland as part of the university's new master's program in creative sustainability. Teaching is an important extension of David's research while he continues his 26-year career at IBM.

Sharon Weiss Maluth celebrated her daughter Hannah's Bat Mitzvah on April 30 with Gina Tapper, Patty Bloomfield and Debbie Yanofsky.

John J. Short was appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), which serves as the link between ACHE and affiliates by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities.

John is the interim executive vice president and chief executive officer of Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago.
