I
(Bo Sandine '03) am proud to announce the creation of the
Kellogg Alumni Club of Orange County! Home to more than 1
percent of the U.S. population and a booming business center,
"The OC" has evolved from a bedroom community into
a cultural hotbed. In addition to Disneyland, there's Huntington
Beach (Surf City U.S.A.), the Ducks and the Angels, Laguna
Beach and Little Saigon (which has the world's largest Vietnamese
population outside of Vietnam). Nearly 400 Kellogg graduates
work and/or live in Orange County, which is located between
Los Angeles and San Diego counties.
A
dedicated group of pioneers formed the KACOC planning committee:
Maria Ramirez '02, Monica Baier '05, Ashley Stubbins '02, Eric Johnson '01, Joseph Klauzar '06, Jessica Yang '03
and yours truly. To launch the new entity, KACOC hosted an
Oscar party at the Alize Clubhouse in Aliso Viejo. Champagne
flowed as attendees literally entered on a red carpet! Paul
Lange '62 and his
wife, June, dazzled in tux and gown, winning the "Best
Dressed" award — a gift certificate to South Coast
Plaza. An Oscar prediction contest held alums in suspense
as they waited for the final award, Best Picture, to be announced.
Robert Szebert '81 and his wife, Loretta, were among the victors.
The
KACOC is moving forward with more events in 2007. Please "re-power-up"
on the Web by updating your contact information, especially
your preferred e-mail address. You can visit kelloggalumni.northwestern.edu/clubs/kacoc
for up-to-the-minute club details, photos from our launch
party, and event offerings from Orange County alumni of other
MBA programs. We're thrilled to represent Kellogg to the fullest
in "The OC!"
