KACNY
hosts 5th multischool MBA happy hour
Kellogg
alumni gathered on a sultry evening in August at the Boat
Basin Café overlooking the Hudson River
in Manhattan at
the multischool MBA happy hour organized by KACNY. Hundreds
of people enjoyed cocktails and lively discussion with new
friends and old while watching one of the most beautiful sunsets
in New York last summer. This was the fifth event of its kind
in the New York area, both initiated and run by KACNY. Special
thanks to Dan Williams '99 for planning this event.

More than
120 Kellogg alumni gathered at The Williams Club in Midtown
on Oct. 1 to welcome new graduates into the KACNY family and
preview The Williams Club, one of KACNY's new partner clubs
in New York. Associate Dean Emeritus and Kellogg Ambassador-at-Large

food and beverage. Alumni took tours of The Williams Club,
and many have since taken advantage of the special offer from

held its 2003 golf outing on a Saturday in early October at
the well-regarded Clearview Golf Course in Queens. This was
a great opportunity to see old Kellogg friends and meet new

KACNY tradition.
KACNY
and Medill Club of New York host chocolate tasting
The Kellogg
Alumni Club of New York and the Medill Club of Greater New
York invited local alumni to a delicious chocolate tasting
on an evening in October. Attendees explored the fascinating
origins of chocolate and discovered its many hidden aromas
and tantalizing flavors. They cultivated their tongues by
tasting chocolate made from cacao beans grown from different
parts of the world, and then indulged in pairing fine chocolates
with teas, coffees and wines. The exclusive event was held
at MarieBelle Fine Treats and Chocolates on Broome Street.
Special thanks to Lan Wong of the Medill Club of Greater New
York for arranging this special event with her employer, MariBelle.

All-MBA
happy hour
Members
of the New York Business School Clubs (NYBSC) invited New
York-area alumni to join them for their third annual all-MBA
soiree. This was a great way to kick off the holiday season
in style at a fun networking and socializing event. This year's
get-together was held at Metronome in Union Square. Special
thanks to Joe DeBono '97, one of the KACNY key advisers and
an elected member of the NYBSC, for his help in leading this
event.
Personal
financial planning seminar
Most of
us spend more time planning our vacations than our personal
finances. While we normally get an annual physical and dental
check-up, we don't bother with a financial one. To help remedy
this imbalance, KACNY invited area alumni to attend an educational
talk on personal financial planning. Attendees received a
checklist and worksheets to help better plan their financial
future. They also picked up some ideas about cash management,
risk management, investments, taxes, retirement and estate
planning. Carol Spomer '78 and Kelly Imamura conducted the
event.
Exclusive
wine tasting at The India House Club
KACNY
celebrated the fall and holiday season with a very special
wine tasting sponsored by The India House Club and WineSpectatorSchool.com.
Attendees saw Gloria Maroti '97 of WineSpectatorSchool.com
in action and enjoyed a high-quality wine tasting at one of
the most exclusive private clubs in the city. Special thanks
to Javed Rahman '97 for planning this event.
KACNY
and Northwestern law school joint happy hour
The Kellogg
Alumni Club of New York, the Northwestern Law Alumni Association
and The Williams Club hosted a joint happy hour on a Thursday
evening in November. Attendees were treated to a fun evening
of networking across multiple Northwestern academic programs.
Alumni had the opportunity to catch up with old friends, make
new connections and enjoy great food and drink.
Wall
Street Week networking event
Remember
when you first arrived in the city hoping to land that all-important
job on Wall Street? Alumni shared experiences and gave advice
in an informal setting about Wall Street careers at this well-attended
event. Special thanks to Irene Tarkov '02 for brainstorming
and planning.
KACNY
holiday party 2003
KACNY
held its annual holiday party during the first week in December
at The Williams Club. This year we put together an elegant
cocktail reception for our alumni at a discounted rate and
people showed up in droves. Special thanks to Dan Williams
'99 for planning this event.
February
happy hour
KACNY
held its February happy hour at Trousdale in Midtown on a
Monday evening in early February. A group of Kellogg alumni
(including many new faces) braved the cold New York weather
to catch up with friends and network in this hip new hangout
named for the fabled L.A. housing development of the same
name (Trousdale Estates). |
