Atlanta

The Kellogg Alumni Club of Atlanta continues to enjoy an exciting breakfast speaker series. Past speakers have included Beauchamp Carr, executive vice president of the Atlanta Arts Alliance; Mike Eskew, chairman and CEO of UPS; J. Walker Smith, president, Yankelovich Partners; and a venture capital panel chaired by Dr. Teo Dagi, managing partner, Cordova Ventures.

Upcoming speakers include: Philip Kent, chairman and CEO, Turner Broadcasting Corp.; and Frank Weise, chairman and CEO, Cott Beverages Inc. The series is held at the Buckhead Club, with a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and the speaker presentation at 8 a.m. Each event is $25, which includes breakfast and parking. You may bring a guest for $30. Please visit kelloggalumni.northwestern.edu/clubs/atlanta for more information.

Other popular events include the monthly happy hour in conjunction with Team Ivy. Happy hour is held from 7 to 9 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the Park Tavern in Midtown. Ask for Team Ivy at the door. Visit our Web site for details on all the events.

On the club leadership front, club founder and longtime president Sarita Soldz '91 stepped down after several years of spirited and effective leadership. During Sarita's tenure, the club grew to its present size of nearly 500 members, formed alliances with other leading business school alumni clubs and organized numerous successful events. Sarita will continue to work closely with the club. Tim O'Connor '99 joins previous co-president Chris Tomseth as the newest co-president. And Rick Berg '95 remains willing to assist Kellogg alumni with career searches. Rick can be reached at rberg@northhighland.com.

If you would like to get involved with the club, help with an event, or just talk about goals, do not hesitate to contact one of the club co-presidents, Chris Tomseth or Tim O'Connor.
